CDI South Pacific Fiji 2010
Buy this for the Fiji funk and you might be surprised: the tawny port finish takes the wheel. Expect dark chocolate, red-wine berries, sweet caramel and a spicy, leathery finish. Several tasters found it a real "Schoko-Bombe" that's nicely balanced, though a few wished the Fiji character (thyme, honey, smoke) came through more. At 61.5% the heat is clearly there.

How does CDI South Pacific Fiji 2010 taste?
Aggregated from 23 community reviews.
Port-finished Fiji, all dark chocolate and red wine Well liked as a chocolatey port-finished sipper that's balanced and intense. The honest catch: the port can bury the Fiji character, so it could be from almost anywhere.

Very Nice Fiji, first taste is spicy, oak, and white peber. Long port cask finish
Review by Tim
Port finish is something great, even if it is a bit dominant here?! The character of the Fiji Rum is difficult to identify yet. Lots of bitter chocolate, wine, sweet caramel and fruity grape berries. Relatively mild and round in the mouth for over 60%. Some alcoholic spiciness is there nonetheless. Finishes with lots of sweet grape and red wine, spicy, leathery, bitter chocolate.

very crisp and in your face, tawny port finish clearly noticeable and well integrated without the Fiji character (thyme, honey, smoke, coffee) to fully dominate. nevertheless, an intense affair, the 61% are clearly noticeable and give the whole thing a proper kick but not unpleasant, but you have to stand on it ;)

#4554 18.01.2024 Flipping a few samples today ☺️ A nice medium fruity rum with light glue on the nose. The palate is intense yet fresh with a touch of cherry. The finish is medium long with natural sweetness to it. The empty glass has light nutts and faint Cafe latte.

The port finish is quite pronounced. Fits the Fiji but well! Proper "chocolate bomb".
