Trois Rivières Triple Millésime 1998-2000-2007

Sip this one neat — it's an aged Martinique agricole built for slow tasting, not mixing. The nose leans gourmand: fresh oak, vanilla, orange zest and praline. On the palate spice and wood take over, with pepper, sandalwood and a little coffee. Several tasters loved the complex nose but felt the 42% reduction thins things out, leaving a finish that "could be longer."

The community says
  • Complex, gourmand nose
  • Balanced spice and oak
  • But: Short finish

Another return to this big event where many people go to get drunk. Once again we had a special event for a select set of people. Notes. A very nice and balanced rum with fruit and spices. The Agricole notes are kind of light but still a nice rum. Medium finish with light marzipan.

Really rather a great rhum. Nose is leather and brown sugar and on the lighter side. The mouth hit is a big spicy punch with a praline sugar element in tandem, not typical and something that I really enjoy. Times when I think it could be too spicy, especially as the finish is long and peppery but it comes together in a great package. It almost feels half way between an agricole and something Barbadian. Looking forward to trying more from the distillery
