Bonne Mère DBM Grande Reserve XO Cuvée Eden
Dried apricot, patinated oak and warm baking spice lead here, with leather and dried fruit trailing into a longish finish. It's a molasses rum from Guadeloupe blending stock up to 15 years old. Several tasters find it lovely but a touch flat at 43% — the wood and spice edge out the buttery fruit that people loved in the younger VO and VSOP.

Tasted this good molasses rum from Guadeloupe at Rhum Fest Paris 2026. It’s a blend of rum aged between 6 - 15 years. This rum is overall full-bodied, complex, rich and aromatic. The nose is floral, sweet, fruity, woody and spicy with scents acacia, honey, caramel, apricot, prunes, banana, citrus, nutmeg and peppers. At the palate it’s intense, roasted and fruity with flavors of apricot, leather and tobacco. The finish is rather long.

Ce rhum DBM XO cuvée Eden est une belle réussite, comme le sont ses petits frères VO et VSOP. Cependant il me semble un cran en dessous. Le nez est dominé par les notes boisées épicées et fruits séchés que l'on retrouvera au goût et en finale.

Je l ai trouvé un peu en retrait par rapport au VO et VSOP . Dommage qu' il ai perdu le côté fruité beurré que j avais beaucoup aimé avec les autres versions moins vieillies. Là le fruité est moins exubérant (abricot sec).Le boisé épicé a pris le dessus. Ce profil plaira plus aux amateurs de rhum boisé chêne. A regoûter pour confirmer.

Edit : toujours aussi bon ! Ultra fruité, petites notes de thé, bein gras. Rien à redire on se régale tout simplement. Dégusté au Rhum Fest Paris, notes à compléter. Composé de rhums juqu'a 15 ans d'âge. Un profil sur les fruits à coque, l'abricot, un petit côté cognac comme le VO, et un bois patiné très sexy. A mon avis il faudrait lui laisser plus de temps pour s'exprimer pleinement, la finale était un peu chargée. A 65€ PVC, très sympa !

Dégusté lors d un important line up, notes assez brèves. Tres joli nez. La bouche malheureusement ne suit pas le nez, malgré une certaine intensité pour 43 degres et un joli boisé patiné. Dommage que la reduction soit trop importante.

Nez immédiatement fruité, plus expressif que prévu : fruits mûrs, presque confits, avec une douceur naturelle. En bouche, la franchise du fruit surprend, portée par une belle rondeur, puis viennent le bois, les épices et une légère touche caramélisée. Équilibré, gourmand, élégant, avec une finale douce et persistante.

Fantastischer XO. Direkt bei Bonne Mère mit Julien Picot probiert. Entgegen der meistens XOs wurden hier auch sehr alte Fasser verwendet. Man merkt dss im Abgang. Mit einer der besten XOs im Melasse-Bereich.
