Charrette Rhum Blanc
Most people treat this as a workhorse, not a sipper. It's the everyday white from Reunion, molasses-based (not agricole despite the look), with a grassy, fruity nose and a spicy palate where the alcohol pokes through neat. A few tasters say straight it "c'est pas trop ça" to drink pure — but for ti punch, rhums arrangés and baking, it earns its keep.

Grassy Reunion white, built for mixing Solid mixing and infusion white. Grassy and fruity, but the 49% shows hot on the palate, so most drink it in ti punch, cocktails or rhums arrangés rather than neat.

The famous charrette! No need to present it. Perfect for cocktails, pastries or arranged rums. To drink pure, we won't lie, it's not really that good. Good value for money, though!

Kurztrip Reunion September 2024. Dann noch der 49%ige Rhum Blanc Traditionnell von Rhum Charette. Im ersten Eindruck ist er sehr pflanzlich und fruchtig in der Nase, am Gaumen ebenfalls, hier überwiegt aber leider auch wieder der Alkohol.

Charrette from Reunion is a collaboration between the other distilleries in Reunion. It’s said to be the most bought rum in Reunion. It’s produced from sugar cane syrup which means that it’s not an Agricole, instead it’s a French styled Traditional rum. Overall an easy consumable not very demanding rum for someone used to Agricole’s Blanc 50-55%. Tested it in a TI Punch and it worked well, but I prefer an stronger Agricole Blanc. I’m quite sure it will fit quite good in any rum drink, especially better than any multi column produced white rum.
