La famille Naud est devenue célèbre pour ses Cognacs, élaborés dans une distillerie nommée la Distillerie secrète. Un nom qui lui vient de sa situation géographique : elle a été fondée par Emile Perrier sur une petite île bien cachée dans le bras d’une rivière, la Seugne. Depuis quelques années, cette distillerie élabore d’autres alcools : ainsi avons-nous déjà eu le bonheur de faire la dégustation d’une vodka et d’un gin. Cette fois, c’est un rhum du Venezuela que la marque nous dévoile. Il a été élaboré à partir de mélasse, issue de cannes cultivées dans l’Etat d’Aragua, dans une Hacienda historique du pays. Après une première maturation sous climat tropical en fûts de Bourbon, il a été acheminé en France où il a bénéficié, au sein de la Distillerie secrète, d’un vieillissement en fûts de chêne français. Le voilà qui s’offre à nos regards après 12 ans de maturation. Sa belle robe ambrée dissimule des arômes de sucre brun et de noix de coco, le tout se déployant sur un élégant fond boisé. Au palais, figue, café, vanille et épices composent un accord harmonieux, qui emporte irrésistiblement notre adhésion pleine et entière !
