It’s much too sweet for my taste and without the complexity and balance that my favorites among the sweet Spanish styled have. The nose is dominated by vanilla and sugar as it is at the palate together with toffee.

#6670 21.04.2026 Running a few samples after my bike training while listening to Soniq Vision, Armin van Buuren and Dirty Signal on Spotify. This is a very very sweet rum with a lot of fruit, caramel and nutts in the profile.

Nose: Powerful. Lot of sweet fruits, vanilla, caramel. But still not bad. Feeling the tobacco leaf, sandal wood & sesame. Taste: very sweet, to much brown sugar, some cherries, peach, vanilla, woody, marmalade, maple syrup & cinnamon. Aftertaste: Medium-short. Little bitter, dark chocolate, raisin, nuts, figs & prune. Still lot of caramel. Simple Spanish style rum. But nose not bad.

Nez sucré : vanille/caramel/bonbon à l’orange Bouche (trop) douce : rond/vanille Finale (trop) courte : sucre brun/épices Rhum malheureusement trop plat et pas assez complexe. Cela ressemble plus à une boisson sucrée qu’a un spiritueux digne de son nom ! Nous n’avons pas d’informations précises à ce sujet, mais ce Ron doit être additivé en sucre (et pas un peu !). Ne soyons pas sado-maso, beaucoup d’entre nous, dans la découverte du rhum, sont passés par cette case ron sucrés … Retenons, entre outre, le bouchon en verre lol

I honestly don't get it as to why the rating is so low for this one. I think it is an honest, fine sweet-ish rum with pleasant body. You get lots of wood, dried fruits such as raisins, caramel, dark chocolate, nuts and most importantly Sherry. I like it very much. The only downside is nose- which is meh.

Read full review →Probably no surprises from this review but I really do not like this brand. I'm not alone in these feelings despite the general positive reviews towards Millonario, mostly by people who really aren't rum fans. Ivar over at Rum Revelations also did not enjoy this particular effort.
