Rum Nation T.D.L Cask Strength Trinidad 2012
Here's the surprise: for a cask-strength Trinidad at 53.4%, it drinks unusually light. Members find soft wood, a little caramel, dried fruit and faint cherry, with just a hint of smoke and mint — all gentle, nothing pushing forward. The alcohol sits well-integrated. Several felt it was balanced but underwhelming, wishing this TDL profile showed more of its punch.

How does Rum Nation T.D.L Cask Strength Trinidad 2012 taste?
Aggregated from 31 community reviews.
Light, balanced Trinidad that plays it safe Well-behaved and balanced, but most tasters wanted more. Light wood, caramel and dried fruit that never fully arrive — one called it "very good for starting out" in rum.

#4919 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, light caramel, driet fruit, light mint, round. Palate Round, balanced, light, light wood, light roasted, light mint, dried fruit, faint cherry, light caramel, spice. Finish Medium long, fresh, light, round, light dried fruit, faint cherry, light mint. Pretty OK release and the price is also good in my mind.

Hmm noo🤷🏼♂️ trinidad for the whole evening when I don't want to concentrate on what I'm drinking. Smells slightly alcoholic but nothing unpleasant. I don't smell anything distinctive, light wood and burning like when I smell pepper but I don't smell it. Mata nowhere. Dry, slightly caramel and fruity

It's part of the light tdl. I found it rounded with dry fruit, chocolate and light caramel. A bit of personality with hints of cherry, smoke/grit and a very light minty freshness. A good way to start discovering rum.

All the flavours are quite light. None of them really stands above others. Quite balanced, but could be more intense. Alcohol is well integrated Medium to long finish Not bad, but didn't fulfill the expectations

All very shallow. Of course, a very decent price for a rum at cask strength, but you still don't get much for it. Little complexity, weak variety of aromas, alcohol moderately integrated. Trinidad can do much more, here it is only hinted at.
