Nearly everyone here loves this old Enmore, with one recurring caveat: at 30 years the wood and tannins creep forward, and several tasters rank it just behind the 27- and 29-year TRC siblings. Give it 20-30 minutes and it opens into prunes, dried figs, dark chocolate, leather and tobacco. Oily, warm, "surprisingly fruity for its age," with the 52.1% tucked away neatly.

Edit Edit: Had another comparison in the larger REV round. For me, a shade behind the 27-year-old from TRC, but a shade ahead of the 29-year-old and the Greenheart. Edit: Tasted again in the small round of the Franconian Tasting Gang, which resulted in the last 3 bottles in the online store going to Franconia again. 😅 First impression: Definitely does NOT fall short in contrast to its predecessors. Can keep up very well. The extra year hasn't done it any harm and it hasn't become too woody, as I feared. The first impression is that it is rounder than its predecessors and dangerously drinkable. I like it in any case.

I‘m very positively surprised. While I expected it to be too much on the woody side - akin to some of the mor recent REV bottlings, this is very well balanced and fruity. A bit less intense versus some older bottling, but definitely up there in the vintage. In a TRC side-by-side the 30y comes in second place. A bit less power versus the 29y but more elegance and less herbal notes on the finish. Very close call though.

Another wonderful 1994 REV from TRC, just like its predecessor. The extra year has not become too bitter. But much longer could become critical. REV typical notes with plum naturally present.

Well, unfortunately it doesn't really knock my socks off. Apart from the fact that the rum has to breathe for a surprisingly long time, I think it has a strange off-note on the palate right at the beginning, while it lacks malt and prunes somewhat later on, contrary to expectations, while herbs and sour wood come to the fore too much. For me, it's unfortunately over the top and brings up the rear of the REV 1994 bottlings to date, although the price is of course unbeatable. Update 2024-10-12 REV 1994 tasting Here is my ranking (nose and palate impressions each contributed 50% to the overall rating, in the event of a tie, the length of the finish was decisive, as was the case with ranks 1-3, which were incredibly close together): 1ST RX12425 2ND RX121 3. RX11107 4. RX21851 5. RX12203 6. 11402 So this rum gets 5 points more from me today. Attention, daily form is not to be underestimated!

8,8:On the nose, the first impression we get is pretty dark, as a wood is roasted with leather, nuts like walnut, burnt sugar, the fruits are dried with dates, raisins, prunes, figs, there is some citrus.The molasses is vegetal, dark with tobacco, black tea and licorice. On aeration, we get notes of soy sauce, umami, maggi, there is some spice, perhaps cola notes and dark berries.Complex, but balanced. 9,1:On the palate, the attack is very pleasant, round with dried fruits like dates, prunes, apricots, figs, the wood is spicy and charred with caramel, Demerara sugar, vanilla, leather, later dark chocolate, umami.The molasses is dark with licorice, black tea, tobacco, after resting it gives us a floral touch and some dark berries arise.Very tasty. 8,7:The finish is long, dry, dark with spicy roasted wood, tannic, some new fruits pop up like red fruits, the molasses becomes earthy, as bit waxy..

For me, it has everything I expect from a good 94 REV. Juicy prunes, cinnamon, dark chocolate, strong mocha, light menthol and lavender tones. Hardly any wood influence for 30y aging and a nice creaminess and above all no licorice, but light herbal associations. Extremely round, balanced and complex! And a very fair PLV for the current time with 250€ RRP!

The 30-year-old TRC 94 Enmore REV competes against its (phenomenally) good, 'younger' 29-year-old brother. First impression on the nose: while the 29er immediately delivers mercilessly well, the 30er initially comes across much less. I can't say whether this is due to the 2 percentage points lower ABV or the fact that the sample of the 29-year-old has been open for longer. After 20 minutes, the 30 then opens up more and there are prunes / dried fruit, caramel, tobacco and dried wild herbs. But: it remains the same, the 30 seems somewhat more restrained overall. On the palate, the 30 also has a little more barrel, plus mocha and a subtle, tart note on the finish. In comparison, I also like the 29 a little better on the palate, with more sweetness and fruitiness. The bottom line is that the 29 is slightly ahead of the 30. Nevertheless, the 30 also plays at the top of the 94 Enmore REV league!

Ein weiterer 94er Enmore REV von TRC. Dieses mal der 30-jährige! Den 29-jährigen fand ich erstklassig, umso gespannter war ich darauf, was ein weiteres Jahr Reife ausmacht. Er schlägt sich ordentlich, kommt aber an das Niveau vom Vorgänger nicht heran. Er zeigt mittlerweile zuviele holzige und Tanninaromen, die am Gaumen dem Trockenobst wenig Luft lassen. Im direkten Vergleich wird es recht deutlich. Der Abgang ist schön lang und klingt sanft aus . Auch wenn er nicht die Qualität des Vorgängers erreicht, ist es ein klasse dunkler würziger Rum .

Das ölige Mundgefühl, auch im Abgang ist richtig cool. Ansich klassiche Marker des Profils. Diese sind aber parallel ebenbürdig und harmonisieren tiptop nebeneinander. Freu mich das mal im Cross-Tasting zu probieren. Fällt im Crosstasting (2025) in der Bewertung runter: Rum Cask 30 Year REV 1994 Etwas verschlossener und schärfer in der Nase. Noten von Creme, stark getoastetem Brot, fast verkohlt. Die Balance fällt im Vergleich etwas ab, leichte Bitternoten bleiben im Abgang zurück. Wirkt insgesamt etwas „schmutziger“.

Absolut beeindruckender REV Guyana Rum. Die Farbe ist schon sehr beeindruckend nach der langen Reifung. Sehr ölig im Glas. Sehr intensiv in der Nase und tolle Geschmacksexplosion im Mund. Ein wirklich sehr gelungener Rum.

🎁 échantillon obtenu grâce aux points RX. 👃 Whaou, quel nez! Très Oloroso/PX, plus Oloroso je dirais. Beaucoup de fruits secs, confiturés et noirs en tout genre (dattes, figues très mûres, baies, raisins, pruneaux, prunes). La réglisse traditionnelle se fraye un chemin et s'impose, jy trouverai même quelques notes fraîches de sève. Le boisé est sombre, dense, épicé, cuiré et structure tous ces arômes complexes. 😋 Fruitée, sur un versant plus confituré. J'adore la texture un peu grasse. On retrouve le même fond de marmite, les prunes, dattes, figues, raisins, baies noires s'en donnent à cœur joie. Le fût est bien présent aussi, du chêne presque brûlé au sucre Demerara, formant une mélasse collante mélangée aux douelles. J'ai aussi une belle combinaison de réglisse, de chocolat noir, des touches de café gourmand et de la feuille de cigare. La bouche fait complètement écho au nez, c'est indéniable. ⛳ Très longue, réconfortante, boisée, épicée et tannique. On débute par une gourmandise de réglisse chaude, presque salée, qui englobe le palais. Avec le temps, j'ai de la noix sèche et du chocolat noir 90% qui forme une belle harmonie. Puis, une sensation plus herbacée se développe au fur et à mesure de la finale, sur de jolies notes de thé noir et d'infusions aux fruits confits. 🫗 Le verre vide continue de nous surprendre avec de subtiles notes de bacon soufflé, de réglisse salée, de fruits compotés et de crème balsamique. 🏅 J'apprécie beaucoup ces Enmore 94 mark REV de l'alambic Versailles même s'il y a eu vraisemblablement coloration. J'y retrouve de nombreuses similitudes avec de très bons whiskies vieillis intégralement en fût de sherry Oloroso ou Pedro Ximénez. Un excellent malt alternative en somme. Je ne l'ai pas évoqué, mais l'intégration de l'alcool est remarquable.

Sehr schöne, warme Nase. Lack, Politur, sehr würzig. Trotz der langen Reife hält sich die Eiche im Zaun. Röstig und dunkel. Im Mund dann sehr weich und chremig. reichlich Kaffee. Superguter Abgang. Warm, Karamell, Gewürze. Mit der Zeit kommt dann die Eiche in den Vordergrund. Das war erst mein zweiter 94 REV. Der erste war der RA, den fand ich zwar sehr gut, aber nicht überragend. Dieser holt mich eindeutig mehr ab. Toller Rum! Danke nach Bonn für dieses inspirierende Sample! 😀😀😀

Die Nase ist echt super und nicht zu fasslastig. Die fruchtigen Aromen kommen noch gut durch und werden nicht von den schweren holzigen/röstigen Aromen erschlagen. Auch am Gaumen schön ausgewogen mit dezenter Frucht. Schöner 94er REV!

Nach einiger einiger Zeit öffnet sich dieser wunderbare Zeitgenosse und gibt dann sein ganzes Aromenspiel frei. Bereits in der Nase der Geruch von Pflaumen und getrockneten Datteln und win wenig Holz. Und dieses kommt dann schön warm und rund zur Geltung. Dazu Noten von Leder. Im Abgang eine ganz leichte bittere Note.

Wirklich intensiver und leckerer REV, trifft genau meinen Geschmack. Fruchtige, bittere Noten von Tee und Schokolade. Das alter funktioniert sehr gut mit den holz Noten. Dezenter Abgang dank sehr gut eingebundenen Alkohol. Leider konnte ich jeine Flasche ergattern. Falls jemand eine übrig hat, gerne melden.

Encore un superbe représentant de ces vieux Enmore avec un profil sombre à souhaits. Du tabac, du cuir, du poivre, un peu de caramel brûlé, du chocolat noir, de l'amertume. Superbe. Je lui ai préféré le Enmore Corman goûté juste avant. Mais c'est un magnifique rhum. Merci @Oliver pour le sample.

Unglaublich lecker ! Ein wahnsinnig guter Enmore 1994. Die Nase ist sehr angenehm. Es kommen viele Trockenfrüchte, dunkle Aromen wie dunkle Schokolade, Cola, Lakritze und dunkle Beeren zum Vorschein. Dann ist da noch diese geniale Würzigkeit von Holz, Leder und dunklem Karamell. Am Gaumen ist er überaus vielschichtig. Die 52 % sind so unglaublich gut integriert, dass man auch 40 - 45 % annehmen könnte. Ich habe Trockenfrüchte wie Dörrpflaume, getrocknete Feige und schöne Leder - und Tabaknoten. Dunkle Schokolade, Holz und Fasseinflüsse folgen zugleich und werden abgelöst von tollen Gewürzen, Lakritze und Demerarazucker. Alles wird von einer angenehmen Öligkeit begleitet. Wunderbarer Körper. Der lange und komplexe Abgang zeigt wieder Dörrpflaume, Holz, Schokolade und andere Trockenfrüchte. Kirsche, rote Früchte und Lakritze gehen über in eine schöne Würze mit Kräutern, Eiche und Tanninen. Diesen absolut großartigen Rum kann ich jedem empfehlen, der sowieso gerne Rum aus Guyana trinkt. Danke für das wundervolle Sample 😃.

... Enmore - drive destilerka, nyni uz jen funkcni destilacni zarizeni. Patrne jedine drevene destilacni zarizeni na svete, ktere se tesi velke oblibe. Rumy Enmore totiz maji prichut popelu, kuze, tezkeho dreva, coz nadchne zejmena milovniky nakourenych whisky. A pokud tradicnim Guyanskym zpusobem prida vyrobce do rumu trochu melasy, mate v lahvi unikatni velmi vyrazny a tezky rum. Jeden z mych oblibenych.

Je ne l’aurai pas pensé aussi fruité ! Pruneaux en avant mais aussi pas mal de fruits secs, évidemment une belle rondeur avec l’âge, du bois en fond sans exagérer. Il y a aussi un côté réglisse et porto un peu lourd mais bon, de temps en temps ça passe.

REV Verkostung der Franconian Tasting Gang November 2024: Insgesamt wurden fünf REVs von 1994 eingeschenkt, die drei Abfüllungen von The Rum Cask, der Nobilis und Distilia Greenheart. Der mit 27 Jahren Jüngste von TRC liefert für mich immer noch die beste Performance ab, mit sehr schönen Trockenfrucht-Noten an der Nase. Seine etwas älteren Brüder sind ein kleines bisschen weniger fruchtig, dafür würziger und röstiger (dabei gefällt mir der 29er etwas besser als der 30er). Der Nobilis bringt von den fünf die meisten Kräuternoten mit. Der Distilia ist in der Nase auch schön fruchtig , aber am Gaumen recht süss und ein bisschen dünn.

Edit: Die B- und C-Probe gefällt mir doch deutlich besser und ich justiere noch mal um zwei Punkte nach oben. Erstaunlich rund und sehr süffig. Mir persönlich ein wenig zu rund. So zumindest der erste Eindruck... Nichtsdestotrotz auf einem hohen Niveau. Zweite Verkostung folgt.

Im direkten Vergleich zum 27er trc unerwartet schwächer - kräuteriger, aber irgendwie weniger intensiv mit einer Note die leicht alkoholisch ist. Beim 27er sind Dattel und Pfflaume weit präsenter - hier reicht es diesmal knapp nicht für 9 Punkte.

Nose and palate are 100% in harmony. Dried fruit and lots of wood, but not too much. It's just right. Give it a good half hour and then it tastes really perfect. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. A beautiful piece.

Zabo, hab Dank fürs Sample.👍🏻 Sehr guter REV, auch wenn ich eher Fan von ungefärbten Guyanas bin. Die Nase hat ein super Zusammenspiel von Trockenfrüchten, kräutrigen Noten und Schwarztee, süßem Holz und Würze, dazu die Mullbinde.😉 Der Gaumen freut sich über erstaunlich wenig Holz für die 30Jahre und kommt mit einer schönen Süße daher. Er geht fast fließend von der Nase über, mit mehr Holz, ist ja klar, Bitterschokolade und Leder. Nur die Schwazteearomen wechseln hier erher in Richtung Tabak. Geiler Stoff, bin positiv überrascht,hatte schon holzigere Kollegen. Einziger Wermutstropfen ist der doch recht kurze Abgang.

Schöner Guyana mit vielen dunklen Noten. Trotz der langen Lagerung verhältnismäßig wenig bitter. Im Gegenteil sind eher Vanillegeschmack Noten gerade am Anfang im Vordergrund. Hinten raus dann ein Wechselspiel von bitteren, süßen und kräutrigen Noten. Alkohol sehr gut eingebunden, langer trockener Abgang. Sehr guter Rum, mir persönlich sind die Vanillearomen zu präsent, um eine höhere Wertung zu vergeben.

Ein toller Rum mit einer hohen Komplexität. In der Nase unfassbar fruchtig. Ganz viel rote Johannisbeere Marmelade. Am Gaumen sehr komplex. Der Rum beginnt leicht, fast wässrig mit schönen Frucht Aromen und wird dann auf der Zunge immer schwerer und dunkler. Das macht Spaß und ist ganz großes Kino. Sehr sehr guter REV 1994. Gefällt mir👌

Kleines REV Tasting. Alle verkosteten Rum haben bedingt durch das hohe Alter eine sehr dunkle Farbe. RX12203: 9.0 Nase: Trockenfrüchte, nicht zu trocken sondern eher fruchtig. Dazu leicht Liebstöckel und eine schöne schwere Würze. Gaumen: Etwas edles Holz, schöne Würze, Trockenfrüchte mit schwerer Süße. Im Abgang bleibt etwas Holz und Leder. Richtig schöner Tropfen. RX17202: 9.0 Nase: Etwas dezenter als der RX12203. Schwere Süße und Würze. Gaumen: Auch am Gaumen mehr Holz und Würze als bei RX12203, leicht bitter, die Tannine sind hier präsenter. Im Abgang tritt diese schöne holzig-würzige leichte Bitterkeit in den Vordergrund. Ganz am Ende finde ich etwas Kastanien. RX21851: 9.0 Nase: Wieder mehr Süße und Fruchtigkeit im Vergleich zu RX17202. Gaumen: Hier nur eine dezente Fruchtigkeit, die Tannine sind nun noch ausgeprägter, aber nicht störend. Ich finde leicht verbranntes Karamell. Im Abgang bleibt eine nicht unangenehme Bitterkeit und ganz am Ende edles Holz. RX25870: 9.1 Nase: Dezent. Leichte, schwere Süße. Gaumen: Wow, richtig voll und direkt präsent. Fruchtigkeit, Tannine, Würze, verbranntes Karamell, leichte Bitterkeit alles nebeneinander wahrnehmbar und alles sehr harmonisch. Einzig der Alkohol ist leicht präsenter als bei den andere TRC, aber nicht störend. Auch im Abgang sehr rund und ausgewogen. Der älteste TRC REV ist für mich auch der beste. RX12425: 9.1 Nase: Ziemlich rot-fruchtig, nicht zu trocken. Bisher die fruchtigste Nase. Gaumen: Wow, richtig tolles und volles Aroma. Rotfruchtigkeit, nicht zu trocken, dominiert. Tannine und eine leichte Bitterkeit. Schwarzer Tee und leicht verbranntes Karamell. Im Abgang ebenfalls sehr rund. Distilia Enmore REV 60.2% (no RX number) 9.1 Nase: Sehr rund mit Frucht und Gewürzen. Gaumen: Voll, direkt, intensiv. Frucht, Gewürze, Tannine und Holz eher dezent. Ewiger Abgang. Geiles Teil.

Lakritz, Leder, getrocknete Früchte, Kräuter im Gaumen etwas süßer. Im direkten Vergleich mit RX7789 und RX121 weniger intensive, mehr Süße, irgendwie von allem einen Hauch weniger. Dadurch minimal hinter den beiden RA.

Was ein schöner Tropfen mit dem man sich lange beschäftigen kann. Trockenfrüchte, Pflaume, Rosine in Verbindung mit dem Fasseinfluss. Im Geschmack dann eine Explosion aus roten Trockenfrüchten, Holz und Schokolade. Im Abgang eine leichte Bitterkeit. Toller Rum! Vielen Dank Manuel für das Sample.

Schön intensiver Enmore mit dunklen Karamellnoten, viel Holz und Noten von dunklen Roten Früchten in der Nase. Sehr würzig und ölig im Geschmack. Mehr Holz, Lakritze, dunkler Zucker und gegen Ende kommen deutlich Tannine hinzu. Im langen Abgang wird die Bitterkeit von Holz, Schwarztee, roten Früchten und Eiche begleitet.
