Blindtasting Worthy Park with: HV WPL (RX272) HV WPM (RX1089) Schotman (RX17173) Wolfgang Klotz (RX21848) TWJ (RX14182) 3rd place (8.4): TWJ. The nose is quite closed and ends up being a bit unbalanced on both the nose and the palate. Slightly bitter on the palate and also on the finish. 2nd place (8.6): HV WPL + WK Spirits. The WK has more wood and spices overall and, with plenty of time in the glass, also more fruity aromas. The HV WPL also needs a little time in the glass, but then has a beautifully complex nose. On the palate, alongside trop. Fruits on the palate as well as subtle glue and esters. 1st place (8.7): HV WPM + Schotman. The Schotman is probably the most rounded WP in crosstasting with a nice peach note. The WPM stands out somewhat with its smoky aromas and licorice. WP has been under my radar so far, wrongly so. I am really positively surprised and will probably have a WP in my glass more often in the future :)

klar, beim WPL Marque kommt jetzt kein Ester-Kracher an der Nase, aber ich bin angenehm überrascht. Sehr rund, viel tropische Frucht, Mango, Papaya, Banane, karamellige Süße, nussig, (Eis-)Konfekt. Am Gaumen tropische Früchte, würzig, Fass, leichte Bitterkeit, die, zusammen mit dem hohen ABV (gut integriert), einen langen Abgang trägt. Gefällt mir ziemlich gut!

Ein kräftiger, würziger und holziger Worthy Park aus dem tollen 2007er Jahrgang der Destille. Alles in allem ein sehr guter Rum, der sein ganzes Potential irgendwie nicht an den Gaumen zu bringen vermag. Vielen Dank für dss Sample @Wolfgang Klotz

8,6:On the nose, solvents and vegetal molasses, woody notes at first with cinnamon, nuts, burnt sugar, honey and tropical fruits like banana, citrus. On aeration, the molasses is floral and grassy, perhaps with tea, the esters level is low, roastedness brings some caramel. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is spicy and fruity, vegetal with notes like vanilla, pepper, salt from spices, banana, mango, hints of red fruits and citrus from fruits, flowery and herbaceous molasses, honey.The wood is roasted with crème brûlée, burnt sugar, confectionery like fruitcake. 8,4:The finish is quite long, dry and tannic, a bit smoky, there is a note of crunchy bread, nuts and caramel, spices and tropical fruits..

Ein sehr kräftiger, aber eher runder Worthy Park. Typisches Profil mit etwas Kokosnuss. Im Mund dann etwas schärfer und funky. Äußert kräftig. Holziger, würziger Abgang. Sehr guter WP! Kann gut mit der 12 jährigen Standardabfüllung mithalten.

In der Nase ein sehr spannender Geruch. See, bisschen Ester und leichte Florale Noten. Vielleicht etwas Zimt Im Mund warm, süß und würzig (Pfeffer) mit leichtem Ester. Leicht bitter, holzig und Alkohol finde ich super eingebunden. Sehr schönes Teil, war wirklich skeptisch vorher aber komplett überzeugt.

Und dann warten wir mal noch die 3 von Herrn Klotz ab ;) Als erstes Jamaica, ja der Typ hat Geschmack. Vergorene, überreife Früchte, vor allem Banane gibt es hier. Am Gaumen dann auch etwas Mango, aber auch Zuckerrohr.

Blind tasting. I was unsure at first on the nose ... molasses or juice? Nose with burnt sugar, some honey and notes of banana with slightly spicy wood. Then more esters on the palate ... hence the thought that it might be WP?

In der Nase super starke Noten tropischer Früchte, vor allem Mango, Banane und etwas Ester. Im Gaumen gesellen sich Holz und pfeffrige Noten dazu. Die Früchte halten im Abgang sehr lange an. Alkohol gut eingebunden und als Low-Ester ein echt guter Sipper

Nummer drei von Klotz für heute und dies ist ein Sneak Peak denn bis zur Veröffentlichung wird es noch etwas dauern. Ich habe netterweise ein sample erhalten. Es begrüßt uns hier gleich eine Ladung Lösungsmittel, sogar mehr an Brausepulver erinnernd das sich gerade schön auflöst (hört ihr auch die Bubbles 😉), einige tropische Früchte kommen vorbei und auch die Banane für viele WP typisch lässt sich blicken. Der erste Schluck. Irgendwie süffiger low Ester Jamaikaner. Der Rum bringt etwas süße mit und einen schönen tropischen Fruchtmix. 61,5%? Wo sind die denn. Kaum zu spüren. etwas Würze mit ordentlich Pfeffer kommt hinzu. Und im Finish kommt natürlich auch Holz zur Geltung aber der tiefe Abdruck tropischer Früchte hält an. Toller Worthy Park! Gute Auswahl!

Überraschend guter Worthy Park! Sehr intensiv und charakterstark an der Nase mit solider Fasspräsenz, trotzdem ausgewogen. Gewürze und Holz stürmen im Mund voran, wobei ein bitteres und trockenes Gefühl entsteht. Den Abgang mit pflanzlicher Teenote und etwas Vanille kenne ich so von anderen WPs.

In der Nase ist er erst recht flach, die Aromen sind ehe fein und man hat keine Esterbombe vor sich, was ich als äußerst angenehm empfinde. Am Gaumen entwickelt er eine leichte Bitterkeit, die sehr gut mit der Frucht harmoniert, der recht hohe Alkoholanteil ist sehr gut eingebunden und bringt einen schönen Bums mit. Dazu leichte Kanten durch die Fasseinflüsse - macht Spaß, kann man lange mit arbeiten!

An der Nase klare jamaikanische Noten. Allerdings auch noch mit einem anderen Einfluss. Hatte noch nicht so viele worthy parks ... Dürdlfze wohl dieses Profil mit rein strahlen. Am Gaumen dann durchaus würzig.

WPL, also keine high Ester klatsche zu erwarten. An der Nase sehr ausgewogen. Am Gaumen überwiegd die würzige trockene Seite, jedoch ohne bitter zu sein. Gefällt mir ganz gut. Dafür, dass WP nicht zu meinen Lieblings Destillerien gehört, gefällt er mir trotzdem ziemlich gut.

Schöne Nase! Sehr komplex und fruchtig. Leider ist er am Gaumen dann doch finde ich etwas biestig und Alkoholisch und könnte besser eingebunden sein. Finde ich insgesamt etwas zu anstrengend wenn auch aromatisch gut.
