#4883 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Round, sugarcane, light wood, spice, light herbal, light floral, light citrus, light mint, faint tar, light cinnamon. Palate Round, fresh, sugarcane, spice, light herbal, faint floral, light mint, faint tar, faint rubber, light honey, cinnamon, light citrus. . Finish Medium to long, fresh, light wood, faint smoke, sugarcane, dried fruit, cinnamon, light floral. Also a pretty good release and the Caroni's cask is detectable.

A rum tasted at Whisky Live in Paris in 2024. The nose is buttery, pastry-like, with overripe fruit. These aromas dominate the usual herbaceous sides. The nose is rather interesting, but the palate lags behind with somewhat restrained aromas. The finish is rather short.

A very nice rum. Herbs are recognizable on the nose, mint stands out clearly here, otherwise also slightly woody. It remains minty, fresh and herbal on the palate. There is also a certain spiciness and sugar cane.

Dans la lignée évolutive des rhums de Providence, ce petit rhum démarre au nez sur de belles notes goudronnées, beurrées et pâtissières. Cannelle, bois, agrumes, canne à sucre et arômes herbacés entrent dans la danse et forment une belle symphonie olfactive. Un nez rond, novateur et charmant. On retrouve en bouche un rhum doux, sur le côté sucré de la canne et de la mélasse, mais aussi beaucoup de fraîcheur avec des séquences végétales, herbacées et mentholées. Derrière une enveloppe médicinale se cache des épices (cannelle, vanille), des fruits secs et une touche de bois. Le profil est accessible mais offre une belle variété aromatique, parfait pour découvrir de nouveaux horizons. L’alcool est très bien intégré. Fait assez rare pour le souligner mais la finale est pour le coup presque supérieure au reste du profil en dévoilant pléthore d’arômes. Les notes minérales et iodées se mêlent parfaitement au côté floral, sucré et très mûr qui part vers le fruit. Bois, épicé et notes fumées mettent le point final à cette dégustation avec élégance et équilibre. Un joli rhum qui est en pleine évolution et présage de bonnes choses pour la suite.

Ein solider Rum. Nichts besonderes, eher leicht zu trinken, würde diesen eher in die Kategorie easy Sipper ein ordentlich. Der Abgang ist leider ein wenig kurz, was ihm eine bessere Bewertung verbaut.

In a direct comparison of the Providence series from 2019, 2020 and 2021, the latter is one of the driest releases. Characterized by herbal notes, crisp spice from pepper and wood, the profile is flanked by some sugar cane aromas and subtle caramel. Despite its young age, it is already beautifully balanced and has an appealingly complex aroma.

Having recently acquired a taste for matured Clairins, I was really looking forward to the Providence 2021. The rum smells of sugar cane, dried fruit and wood full of character. Slender, dry and mild on the palate with a little wood. Very independent, not overly complex, but exciting and quite drinkable, leaving you wanting more.

01-03-2025 Can decide if I like this one or the 2019 Caroni cask best. I really like the 3 barrel blend of this one. This might be my new Providence favorit. Definitely a glas I would like to taske again 😉

It does need time to open up nicely. Well integrated alcohol The canejuice footprinces are there in the aftertaste: medical, floral and mint. Relatively short and dry end. A bit disappionting

Think this is on a par with the 2020 for me, less fruity but complex and lingering finish. Nose is interesting with buttery sugar and some light citrus. The mouth is round with molasses and spice. Finish brings iodine and fresh vegetal notes. Great rum for the price, expect would work well in a daiquiri
