Tasters mostly like this one but keep circling the same tension: it's a lovely, well-aged Hampden that's lighter on esters than the usual LROK, so some call it elegant and balanced while others found the palate "nothing special" against pricier expectations. Expect ripe pineapple, banana, dried apricot, buttery texture and a bit of glue and toasted spice. At 60% it's warming but nicely integrated.

Convincing , fat , full , well pronounced esters , well integrated alcohol , 13 y, maybe I doubt on LROK... but I was at whisky live and it was one of the most satisfying drinks among the basic offerings. Because basic remains apart from the price

#4848 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Fresh, light, light wood, fruity, light mint, light banana, floral, faint chocolate. Palate Round, medium dry, light wood, faint roasted, fruity, faint smoke, light floral, light prunes, anise. Finish Long, light wood, fruits, light floral, light dried fruit, light sugarcane, faint glue, faint chocolate. Also a pretty average Velier release where the price tag will outperform the quality.
