Rhum J.M Single Barrel (Foundations) 2014
One taster summed it up as a "really good JM," and that fits: a 9-year Martinique agricole at 54.8% that leans dry and woody. Expect fresh sugarcane, candied orange and zest, plenty of spice (pepper, ginger, nutmeg) over a noble oak, with a green vegetal edge. More bite than JM's earlier releases, but the alcohol sits well integrated.
The community says- Candied orange & zest
- Balanced spice & oak
- Heavy nose for some

How does Rhum J.M Single Barrel (Foundations) 2014 taste?
Aggregated from 26 community reviews.
Dry, spicy, orange-and-oak agricole at full proof Most tasters land around the mid-8s — a dry, spicy, well-balanced agricole with orange and oak. A couple found the nose too heavy and the ginger a bit much.

Sogar leicht scharf. Schmeckt mir gut

#4867 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light, fresh, fruity, light vegetal, spice, sugarcane, light wood. Palate Light, light wood, round, vegetal, light floral, fruits, light orange, light sugarcane, spice, medium dry. Finish Medium long, light wood, light dried fruit, light orange, , vegetal, medium dry. This is also a pretty young release but has more bite than the 2016 release. I'd say there is a bit more umph in this release, but I do still prefer the 15 year old ones from the 80s.
