Agricole drinkers curious about Japanese Mizunara oak are the audience here. Expect fresh sugarcane up front, then a shift to earthy, mineral, peppery and grassy notes, with light coconut and citrus around the edges. The nose promises toffee sweetness the dry, vegetal palate doesn't deliver. Several tasters found it enjoyable but young, and felt the Mizunara barrel stays subtle rather than transforming the rhum.

#4938 Whisky Live in Paris 27.09.2024-30.09.2024. Another great event meeting a lot of RumX new and old friends. This year three weren't as many new releases as in 2023, but I still had a great time. Nose Light, round, balanced, sweet, light wood, faint roasted, fruits, light coconut, faint citrus, light vegetal, sugarcane. Palate Balanced, velvety, oily, sweet, faint wood, faint smoke, fruits, light coconut, sugarcane, faint vegetal, spice. Finish Medium to long, balanced, velvety, oily, sweet, light coconut, faint caramel, sugarcane, light vegetal. This is a very successful experiment with the Mizunara casks. Another rum I think most people can enjoy.

Notes from Whisky Live Paris 2024 - to be reviewed. I love Neisson but I'm really puzzled by all the mizunaras, which I don't think add much to rum.

Die Nase lässt viel süße erwarten, fast schon toffee-artig und etwas Pfirsich Eistee und Kokos-Chips. Am Geschmack dann wiederum eher trocken, mineralisch, bitter, sehr pflanzlich,erdig und leicht rauchig, sowie eine ungewöhnliche Süße... Der Alkohol könnte etwas besser integriert sein. Insgesamt hatte ich mir aber auch hier mehr erwartet, insbesondere wegen dem mizunara Fass, welches hier aber nicht ganz so zur Geltung kommt wie ich erwartet hätte...
