Swell de Spirits T.D.L On Tour N°6 (Salon du Rhum 2024) 2003
Most tasters land on "very good but atypical" here — the usual TDL mint is barely there, replaced by milk chocolate, roasted wood and yellow fruit. One member calls the mint "very discreet." A few find it round and creamy with mango and caramel; a couple think the cask leans too dominant and the finish runs short. Well-liked, just not the classic minty 2003.

How does Swell de Spirits T.D.L On Tour N°6 (Salon du Rhum 2024) 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 30 community reviews.
Round, chocolatey TDL with little mint Loved by most for its round, chocolatey, fruit-forward take on 2003 TDL. The catch: little of the trademark mint, and some find the wood a touch dominant with a shortish finish.

Nose : From the very first sniff, it’s a tropical fireworks display. Picture a festival of mango in all its forms: liqueur, syrup, freshly sliced, and thick, rich jam. Add a splash of pineapple, a hint of papaya, and a soft embrace of ripe banana. It’s vibrant, exuberant, and unapologetically exotic—pure tropical power. Palate : The party continues, with mango, guava, and papaya still leading the dance, but this time with a zesty kick. Bergamot and lime zest deliver a sharp, refreshing burst of acidity. It’s bold, fruity, a bit provocative, but that’s part of its charm. Then, fresh mint makes an appearance, with a whisper of licorice to spice things up. In short, fun is guaranteed! Finale : Long, effervescent, and full of freshness, the finish leaves a cooling minty breeze, with a subtle hint of wood. The tropical fruits keep performing in the background, elegant, with just a touch of funky flair.

But what a surprise, and what a treat 🤩🤩 This TDL is superb. For once, the menthol is very discreet in favor of the fruit, which explodes on the palate. A touch of "heavy" that I really like 😍😍 A must-taste 🤩🤩🤩

Leicht nussig. Alkohol kaum spürbar. Gaumen minzig, süßlich. Elegant, kein brachialer Brecher. Abgang mittellang, wenig bitter, eher würzig. Schöner TDL in bewährter Swell-Qualität.

Trade fair evaluation Usual strong TDL bottling from SdS. No minty notes like some other TDLs. Recommended purchase if it were a touch cheaper.

On the nose this one is not overly complex. Dominated by cacao / chocolate and some wood - I don’t get mint here. Much nicer on the palate. Very creamy with milk chocolate, wood, some fruits and a hint of mint. Very nice. Finish is a bit short dominated by wood/tanins.

Nun endlich mal probiert.

#4909 25.10.2024 relaxing at home with this nice rum 😊 Nose Light wood, faint roasted, light mint, faint smoke, faint rubber, light citrus, faint herbal, faint caramel. Palate Round, fresh, fruits, light citrus, faint smoke, light wood, light herbal. Light mint, light earthy, faint dried fruit. Finish Medium to long, fresh, light wood, light mint, light caramel, citrus, light tobacco. The empty glass is also pretty nice and a touch of chocolate appears as well as very faint tar.

Quick on-the-go tasting at the sample swap at Zabo. Somewhat alcoholic and rough on the nose with mint, yellow fruit, caramel, wood and spice. Chamomile possibly. Mint again on the palate, with some yellow fruit, wood, caramel and spice. Doesn't blow me away as a TDL per se, but also as a 2003 representative.
