Pineapple, marzipan and a whiff of nail-polish glue open this OWH — the low-ester Hampden mark, so don't expect a funk bomb. Tasters find lots of tropical fruit (pineapple, banana, coconut) plus roasted almonds and young oak. At 59.5% the alcohol reads well-integrated; a few call it a "daily sipper" with edges. Leckerer und süffiger neuer MJH3 bzw. OWH Low Ester Hampden von Bellamy's. Alkohol gut integriert, schöne Fruchtnoten (Ananas, Papaya & Honigmelone), dazu geröstete Mandeln und Kokosmakronen Gebäck, sowie Limettenschale und Saft und dadurch eine angenehme Säure im Abgang. Der Abgang ist relativ kurz aber es ist eben auch eher ein entspannter Low Ester Hampden! Tolles PLV meiner Meinung nach und für mich bis dato einer der besten OWHs am Markt.

Solider Jamaikaner mit mehr Frucht und Aromen, als man von einem OWH erwarten würde. Da hab ich deutlich schlechtere für mehr Geld probiert. Fruchtige Nase mit viel tropischen Früchten (Ananas, Banane, Kokos), Rosine, Toffee, Holz … am Gaumen auch etwas Limette und Papaya. Gaumen etwas kantiger als die Nase, aber immer noch im Rahmen und mit einer leicht cremigen Textur.

Ein rundum angenehmer OWH mit einer lebendig-fruchtigen Nase, der jedoch anzumerken ist, dass das Bourbonfass mit ziemlich frischem Holz aufwarten konnte, was sich im recht vielschichtigen Geschmack dann auch bestätigt. Lecker, aber mit einem etwas nachhaltigeren Abgang wäre noch mehr drin gewesen.

Toller OWH. Entspannt, ausgewogen und macht Spaß. Nur der relativ kurze Abgang gibt etwas Abzug. Dennoch sehr gutes Preis-Genuss-Verhältnis.

Sehr guter Hampden, aber quasi keine Ester erkennbar, aber Mandeln. Blind hätte ich wahrscheinlich auf Worthy Park getippt.

Typisches Hampden profil, wenn auch mit nicht ganz so intensiven Ester und somit Frucht an der Nase. Am Gaumen dann deutlich mehr Frucht. Nicht ganz so intensiv und komplex, aber ein guter Daily Sipper mit Ecken und Kanten. Der Abgang ist leider nicht so lang. Der Alkohol is gut eingebunden.

An der Nase erstmal sehr fruchtig, süß, ester, nagellack, die Feuchtigkeit ist tropisch, Ananas, Banane und ein fitzelchen von Kokosnuss. Am Gaumen erstmal sehr trocken im Verhältnis zur Nase. Holz, eine leichte Bitterkeit die sich durchzieht. Trotzdem behält der Rum seine tropischen Früchte am Gaumen.

Süffiges OWH Hampden-Profil, mit viel tropischer Frucht, leichte Esternoten, Klebstoff und Röstaromen. ABV gut eingebunden, läuft runter wie Öl. Zwar keine Esterbombe, aber doch für dieses Mark, rund und ausgewogen.

Dieser OWH zeigt sich ausgewogen an der Nase. Leicht zurückhaltend aber Gutes Verhältnis zwischen Frucht und Gewürz. Man spürt durchaus Ester aber ist halt vergleichsweise wenig. Am Gaumen eher salzig-röstig, leichte süße ist drin. Aber insgesamt nicht ganz überzeugend, da würd ich lieber zum 8jährigen Klassiker greifen.

Rosine und süße Banane in Nagellack getunkt und zusammen geklebt begrüßen auf einem Marzipanboden die Nase. Vor allem die Marzipannote setzt sich im Geschmack fort und bleibt sehr präsent gegenüber tropischen Früchten. Im Abgang geben sich Marzipan und Banane wieder die Waage. Was Ester angeht schwankt man hier etwas zwischen "noch Ester" und lecker und "schon alkoholisch" und damit nicht mehr ganz so angenehm.

Für einen OWH ganz in Ordnung. Das es keine Esterbombe ist, war natürlich schon vorher klar. Das Positive ist, dass der Alkohol wirklich mehr als sehr gut eingebunden ist. Aber jetzt kommt das aber, ich persönlich finde ihn trotz des ABV zu dünn. Würde den Hampden 8yr hier vorziehen, der m.E. für das Mark mehr kann und die Hälfte billiger ist.
