Aroma visualization from community tastings
S.B.S Ecuador 2016
Sipped neat, this leans dry and wood-forward: vanilla and caramel up front, then a heavy hit of young, virgin oak, baking spice and a citrus-peel bitterness. Several tasters flag a soapy or herbal-musty edge and note the 57% alcohol isn't fully tucked in. A cane-juice Ecuadorian that a few found genuinely interesting and others thought lacked its own character.

Fair evaluation. Tasted as part of the S.B.S. tasting. Interesting rum from Ecuador. A slight menthol note stands out for me on the nose. Then fruity, slightly sweet, spices, caramel and wood on the palate.

Moc pěkná ovocná vůně řízlá kávou, čokoládou a pralinkama. Hezký ovocný závěr s bylinkami a karamelem. Pikantní a hřejivý. Pro mě zajímavý neotřelý rum.

A rum tasted at the GRF in 2024, S.B.S. Masterclass. Dry herbs on the nose, yellow fruit compote and a light pepperiness. On the palate, dry herbs, young wood and the usual caramel and vanilla. The finish is moderately long, though soon all that remains is the fresh wood. A rum marked by new wood (2 years after 6 years of ex-bourbon).

Tasted at German Rum Festival Good rum. Rather odd taste though

Has virtually no DNA of its own. Herbs and lots of virgin oak, lots of ex-bourbon barrel and alcohol not so well integrated. Another example for me that Ecuador unfortunately has hardly any high-quality rum to show...
