Green sour apple on the nose, with caramel, a little tobacco and smoke — then a body that most tasters call thin and a bit watery. Woody and lightly spiced, with a finish several people wish ran longer. A Panama column-still 15-year that reads soft and easygoing rather than deep; a few find it too flat, others enjoy it neat with air in the glass.

The nose is much nicer than the mouth, the complete opposite of the 18-year-old.

Der Vertreter betont, dass Malecon gänzlich auf den Zusatz von Zucker verzichtet und der Rum garantierte 15 Jahre gereift ist. Der Rum wird in Panama nach Cubanischer Tradition destilliert, was praktisch in eine Mischung der beiden Länder resultiert.

Retasting this one today and it lost some points.,but that's what happens when it's a while back you tried it the first time 😊 Though sugar was added to this one it's a wonderful rum because they did not add a lot of sugar so the balance is perfect. Oak and spices are there from nose to finish and a bit of fruit as well. Price to quality is very good.

So it didn't really blow me away. In my opinion, it's not even good enough for an easy sipper. But you can use it as a blender. I've now tried it again. It's okay for the price. But overall I find it too boring and very short in the finish.

Kurz und schmerzlos der Rum hat mich auf ganzer Linie enttäuscht. Es fehlt irgendwie an allem. Geschmacklich kommt nichts rüber gleiches gilt für den Geruch. Der Abgang ist kurz und alles andere als nachhaltig. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Der Rum wird sein Ende bei uns als Grundlage für Mixgetränke haben.

Tolle Nase nach grünen sauren Äpfeln, dazu etwas Tabak, Schokolade und Karamell. Am Gaumen dann allerdings deutlich mehr Tabak und leicht rauchig, fast schon torfig als erwartet, was mir nicht so zusagt. Außerdem gleichzeitig etwas unausbalanciert scharf und dünn verwässert wirkend.
