A1710 Prosper
Most people agree this is a well-made young agricole, but plenty feel the fancy decanter does more work than the rum. The nose wins them over: dried fruit, mango, sugarcane, tonka, tobacco and a sweeter pepper. The palate is simpler and shorter — caramel, cane, walnut and a spicy kick, with the bourbon-and-cognac cask showing through as peach and orange.

How does A1710 Prosper taste?
Aggregated from 35 community reviews.
Fruity young agricole, gorgeous nose, simpler palate Loved for its complex, floral nose and warm spicy finish, though several tasters find the palate falls short of the aromas — and the decanter draws as much comment as the liquid.

Tasted at the Brussels Rhum Festival. A fine product - admittedly too expensive - well-fruited, with a little cane, wood, but above all peach, apricot, orange... the influence of cognac fut is very present (and still pleases me). Decanter as classy as ever. At 100€, anyone would take a case for the winter :)

Another bottling from the A1710 distillery that made it to my desk, and which makes me reminisce about a visit to the distillery in 2024. The nose is very pleasant, spicy, I can also smell cinnamon and then some of that agricole rhum finish. On the palate, I get wood and nuttiness in addition to the spice and a peppery quality towards the end... I would say a higher alcohol percentage than the almost 50%. It probably won't appeal much to molasses fans, but it will definitely win over rhum lovers. I am satisfied.
