Fresh cane, lemon candy and a metallic, fermented tang hit first — one taster pegs the palate as closer to high-end grappa than rum. This unaged Madeira agricole is bottled at a fierce 69% straight off the column, wildly floral and herbal but strict, acidic and a little funky underneath. Water is non-negotiable. Loud, raw and divisive.

Great and unusual white rum. Many floral and fruity aromas, which come despite the high alcohol content round. Especially on the palate it reminds me strongly of (high-quality) grappa. Again, a good example that even re-aged rum can be very exciting!

very special and fierce. Cheese and a lot of musty, austere, metallic and sour vinegar / compost notes on the nose, later discreet banana, honey and blackberry in the background... taste then also very strict, much acidity, metallic bitterness and slightly salty. in the finish then some grapefruit, banana and blackberry, but there you have to concentrate very much on it and perceive the notes. something borderline in my opinion... in the daiquiri dominates then unfortunately this cheesy, very metallic and compost-like note... I do not like well...

Ok, please hear me out. This is not bad, BUT, we have so many nicer options of white rum of the type. Paranubes, a lot of the lontan and other savannas, this is just hte dull and rather uninteresting version of it.
