Something really crazy here at the start. Tastes like a rum-tequila hybrid. Young but nicely matured. Alcohol comes through clearly, but is well embedded for 68.9%. Will it work in a daiquiri?

Here are the three different Mexican rums in a glass that BananaJoe found wherever. Unfortunately no unicorns, which was to be expected. My conclusion, nice to have tried something like this, but unfortunately nothing more.

Sour olive water on the nose, olive oil , grapefruit vanilla. On the palate... Some kumquat when they are not really ripe, sour bitter and again green olives. Relatively alcoholic. Very interesting although not really my cup of tea.

Two Mexican exotics today. The 2022 Otto is really extreme on the nose, with ginger, Ricola herbal candy, kumquat and allspice. The 2021 is much tamer, more caramel-chocolatey. On the palate, the Otto feels like I'm chewing on a bar of soap. The 2021 is also much more pleasant here. Both 'interesting' but the sample is really enough 😅.

The third Alambique Serrano today, which is not convincing in direct comparison. Nevertheless, it is interesting with lots of floral notes, olive and herbs. From nose to finish, however, it also has something rotten about it. Alcohol well integrated. In summary, interesting, but not my thing. With spicy ginger it could be something in a long drink.

Also er schmeckt wirklich richtig verrottet... Gibt bessere Rums.

A great piece! Herbs, olive, brine, yeast, tequila, a little musty, very special.
