The 65% Version is more fruity and less woody as the 68,5% Release. Both are very nice but I have the 65% slightly ahead.

Der Rum zeigt eine intensive Rauchnote, die für mich etwas zu dominant ist und dadurch den Gesamteindruck einschränkt. Andere Bewertungen sind deutlich höher, was zeigt, dass der Geschmack stark subjektiv ist. Neben dem Rauch bringt er auch würzige und erdige Noten mit, die gut zur Komplexität beitragen. Für Fans von kräftigen, rauchigen Profilen ist er sicher eine spannende Abfüllung, ich persönlich bevorzuge jedoch etwas mehr Balance und Feinheit. Trotzdem ein interessanter Tropfen, der Charakter zeigt.

Ein an und für sich schöner Demerara-Rum und guter Vertreter des 1974er Jahrgangs. Trockenfrüchte, Pflaume, Holz, Melasse, dunkle Gewürze - zum Nachteil für mein Empfinden jedoch flankiert von einer erdig -rauchigen Note, die einige Silver Seals mitbringen, die mir leider zu wenig zusagt. Daher bleibt es für mich „nur“ bei einer sehr guten Einordnung, da sich der Rum abseits dieser Note keinerlei Makel anmerken lässt.
