8:On the nose huge waves of charred pineapple and banana chips, smoked oak, creamy butterscotch and distant barbecues.More smokiness comes out later, after the airing. 8:On the palate mango, ananas comes to mind, nice dried prunes, ripe banana with smoked chilli and sticky caramel, earthy vanilla and bittersweet dark chocolate join, licorice in the end. Smokiness feels volcanique/agricole like and lingers. 8:A bit of root ginger on the finish, with hearty oak char and rich, funky cane, some smoked bacon. Definitely more intriguing, well blended than MacNair's Panama Peated, where smokiness pervades/hides the rum. I like whiskies very much also, but when I drink rums, they should be felt rum - like, especially If peated or whisky finished. Edit:3.10.25

Actually also a very nice Jamaican, which unfortunately comes across too watered down due to the ABV, with more % it would really be recommendable. Nevertheless, it is typically Jamaican, with tropical fruits and esters dominating the nose and palate.

The taste is nice and intense for 46%. Smoke is in the foreground here, both in the smell and in the taste. Only then do tones of banana and other fruits develop. I've never had a Jamaican like this before.

It's a fruity jamaican rum with smoke from barrel. Definitely product for someone that really likes smokiness. Generally idea of funky and fruity jamaican rum with smoke or even peat it's something I don't expect to love. Tropical fruits are there, but it isn't a very strong flavour, definitely smoke more contribut to overall taste like 35% fruits to 65% smoke and peat. Barrel really add complexity. It's not only peat, but toasted with bit of dark chocolate. I think it can be a good rum to blend with more funky jamaican rum for better balance
