Deadhead 6 Years
"The bottle design is nice!" is the line that keeps coming up — and unfortunately it's often the highlight. Expect chocolate, cocoa powder, vanilla and caramel on the nose, then a thin, sweet body that turns woody and medicinal, with an odd iodine note a few tasters compared to peated whisky. Reviews skew lukewarm: pleasant at first sip, but it thins out fast.

How does Deadhead 6 Years taste?
Aggregated from 96 community reviews.
Sweet cocoa nose, thin and medicinal palate Most tasters land in the middling zone — chocolate and coffee up front, but thin, artificial and short, with a burnt-woody, medicinal finish. The skull bottle wins more praise than the liquid.

Marginally better than their Dark Chocolate. The only thing that helps it up a little is the higher ABV. The nose becomes completely filled with vanilla. At the palate is the vanilla supplemented with lots of sugar and cacao.

Small hints of coffee, cocoa… low body/character. Wouldn‘t recommend anyone else to buy a full bottle!

6:On the nose, there's no mistake, there's plenty of chocolate, as if cocoa powder had been diluted in the rum. There's also a very smooth, creamy, almost milky quality, giving this rum a solidly gourmand, regressive character.Aeration doesn't alter the profile at all, perhaps more a very sweet side and a certain suave roundness from the vanilla and caramel. 6,9:The palate is smooth, but we're pleasantly surprised by a little relief that avoids the trap of too much roundness. The chocolate borrows a little of the coffee's character, without betraying its promise of deliciousness. 6:The finish is a mochaccino-style blend of chocolate and coffee, quite short.

On The Rocks: On the nose alcoholic with fruit and floral notes with hints of sweetness. Taste reveals a heavier spice with some fruit notes and more neutral sweetness. Finish is short with a bitter taste developing. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose a slightly sweet Pepsi zero. Taste is an enjoyable Pepsi zero with a little more sweetness. Finish is non-existent.

Aroma nabízí sladké tóny čokolády, vanilky, karamelu a kakaa, s příjemnou rovnováhou sladkosti a pražených prvků. Thank god for samples 🙏😅 It's drinkable but i would never buy a full bottle. The bottle design is quite nice tho.

Don't know if i had just a bad batch, or that is how it should be. This is quite a weird rum, definitely young alcohol, oily, thick and has a strong smell of medical iodine that is similar to peated whisk(e)y ! Besides the iodine there are faint hints of sweetness, resembling honey. Aftertaste is next to none, except iodine. In summary, it's a rum that has more similarities with peated whisk(e)y then with rum. Not great for sipping or mixing.

Wasn't expecting much of this rum, the bottle is really nice. Nose: very interesting actually, feels like a rhum agricole or leaning that way, very floral and herbal. Taste: a bit disappointing on the taste, was expecting more herbal flavor after the nose. Finish: the aftertaste is better, definitely feels a bit like a rhum agricole. Overall good price for a nice looking and sturdy bottle. The rum is not the best but can go well with some cocktail.

It has a very strange taste. At first it doesn't seem bad, the sip is pleasant, maybe you explain to yourself that it's good, but in the end you realize that no, it's not good, it's average at most, but maybe not even that. There are thousands of better rums on the market. I recommend it to lovers of alternative flavors, explorers and those who like to play with flavors and aromas. It's incredible to taste a good rum again afterwards.
