Trois Rivières Bois D’Inde
Black pepper and cinnamon sit on top of roasted oak, cocoa and a soft caramel sweetness, with red fruit and sugarcane underneath. This is a sipping agricole from Trois Rivières that most tasters find elegant and balanced. A few note the 42% keeps it "easy sipper" territory, and one or two call it slightly watery with a short finish.

Bois d’Inde is one of the three rivers crossing the Plantation. The two others have also a Rhum named after them. Info from TR state that the plantations geographic location gives their Rhums a special character and rich flavors. The sugar cane grows in clay soils and their roots bathe in sea water. This is said giving a high sugar content and a remarkable diverse flavor profile. It’s a blend of eleven great vintages including the very rare 1979. It’s very smooth, subtle, rich, complex and elegant Rhum with a rather long finish. It will not disappoint anyone that likes Agricole.

Insanely beautiful, complex fruity sweet spicy and elegant sipping Agricole. Must definitely not hide from barrel strengths despite the 42%. I like it extremely well and I would not have expected!

Again a low ABV release where I'd have liked to try a higher ABV. Sweet and fruity with nice spices and light wood. I like the caramel on the profile.

Klasse Agricole, sehr lecker. Schöne Agricole-typische Nase, überwiegend holzig und würzig, aber auch leicht nussig. Am Gaumen auch viel Holz und Würze, vor allem (schwarzer) Pfeffer und Zimt, aber auch eine leichte Süße.

Comparative tasting with St Pierre from old notes. I seem to have preferred the latter for its more pronounced fruitiness and better-integrated woodiness. These are two fine cuvées, gourmet and well-balanced.

Not as big as the Oman, but a great success. We go for a walk.

Fruchtig Floral. Angenehme Nase und Süße . Schmeckt gut.

Vorwiegend fruchtig-holzige Aromen. Geschmack: Im Mund mild, leicht wässrig und süß. Würzig-scharf beim Schlucken mit leichter Fruchtnote. Angenehme Holzigkeit mit Karamell und Pfeffer-Aromen. Abgang: Mittellang. Würzig, pfeffrig, trocken und etwas wässrig. 84 Punkte

Obviously missed it when I see the other notes and commentaries. For me was ok but not very interesting, lacking in character and uniqueness, and frankly borderline bland - but still drinkable. Will try again at a later point

Compared with Bois d Inde. I didn't have a chance to put them against Oman. I put Pierre on the same level as Bois although I like Pierre just a tiny speck of sand more than Boise. Pierre is more fresh, floral and fruity (especially with my favourite apples). Bois is more sweet and darker in nose and taste.

Sour like hell, sorry...

Really nice and elegant one. I had the Oman then the Saint-Pierre, this one ends the triptic. Slightly “less amazing” ( but amazing is already such a trip). The color is mesmerizing !
