Findlater & Mackie of Manchester Ltd. Finest Kosher Rum 1970s

Roasted almonds and burnt caramel run the whole show here — a dark, full-bodied 1970s bottling that tasters place squarely in Demerara/navy-blend territory. The nose is intense but a touch one-note; several members find it opens up and balances better on the palate, with dried fruit and cocoa towards a medium finish. A few suspect the deep color and sweetness are heavily helped along.

Weird and Blind tasting @Artur: Another piece of history! Molasses and caramel clearly dominate. Nice sweetness, surprisingly complex, reminds me of a navy blend.

On the nose there is a lot of burnt caramel. Very dark and intense. Lacks complexity unfortunately. I like it more on the palate. Here we are in dark Demerara territory. Again, a very dark profile but much better balanced than the nose. Some dried fruits towards the finish.
