La Confrérie du Rhum Stade’s Rum JAWS Barbados 2022
Anyone curious what a Barbados distillery can do in a Jamaican register will have fun here. Blind, almost everyone tips Jamaica: esters, pineapple, banana and a glue-solvent lift, with citrus and a touch of smoke that reminds several tasters of Mezcal. The catch is its youth, distilled in 2022, so the palate reads thinner than the huge nose and the finish drops off fast.
The community says- Huge estery nose
- Pineapple and citrus
- Short finish

How does La Confrérie du Rhum Stade’s Rum JAWS Barbados 2022 taste?
Aggregated from 100 community reviews.
Estery Barbados that drinks like young Jamaica Loved as a fruity, estery experiment that smells pure Jamaica. Most agree the young palate is thin and a bit hot, with a short finish, but call it a promising start.

A rum tasted at Rhum Fest Paris in 2024. A rum raisin nose with lots of tropical fruit, esters, spices and pepper. The palate is elegant, with plenty of fruit. The finish could be a little longer, marked by citrus peel. Good value for money here. But don't delay, there are less than 1,000 bottles available.

Edit: Tried it again in a freestyle tiki, it's definitely a lot better there, so it's been adjusted upwards a little. How should I start? Blindly, I wouldn't guess Barbados but Jamaica. Gives a nice ester taste. But what I personally find annoying is that I have such a sugar taste on my lips afterwards. Unfortunately, this makes it too sweet for me, more like a liqueur, spiced rum or definitely with dosage. Even though it's not supposed to have any dosage. Unfortunately, that breaks its neck, I probably had too high expectations.

Blindly, I would definitely have guessed Jamaica here. Very nice, funky rum that's fun to drink. Unfortunately, it falls off a little in the finish and disappears too quickly. Nevertheless, a delicious rum and an exciting experiment from Barbados. Great value for money.

Super exciting! I would have blindly guessed Jamaica, most likely Long Pond. More overripe fruit on the finish, almost reminds me of strawberry from Savanna Herr. Very cool!

Young and fresh with lots of esters on the nose plus citrus fruits, kumquat and yeast. The intensity increases on the palate and a hint of dirt is added. Not like the Caroniwerkstall but more like crazy Clairins. Or even better: like really good mezcal - slightly smoky! The finish is slightly bitter, blood oranges and licorice. Not bad and gives hope for further exciting bottlings!

#5030 04.01.2025 Relaxing at home with some samples. Nose Light wood, faint smoke, fruity, solvent, light sour, light pineapple, light citrus, faint caramel. Palate Oily, medium spicy, wood, light roasted, fruity, light metallic, light pineapple, medium intense, faint caramel. Finish Long and warm, medium spicy, wood, light roasted, fruits, light citrus, faint medicinal, medium intense. The empty glass has light chocolate, spice and a light sour note.

Funky, fresh, fruity and somehow burnt (especially in the finish) and wild. The alcohol could be better integrated. I taste intense orange or lemon peel here, sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. Thanks Zabo

Great complexity, on the nose still with plenty of fresh fruitiness, glue, wood, spices, heavy sweetness. Tart and spicy aromas are added on the palate, which is somewhat at the expense of the fruitiness and introduces a gentle but recognizable astringency on the finish; the profile is pleasingly broad and offers a lot. A great release and a promise for the future of West Indies rums.

Let me start with bottle - I rarely write something about the looks of the bottle but this label is just astonishing and in addition with the red wax capsule (not the plastic fake wax) a real gem to look at. But let’s proceed with the more important part: The nose starts of as a funky Jamaican with some sweet notes. Some wood and a lot of fruits are accompanied by Mezcal (?!). The alcohol is integrated really good, let’s taste it. Pretty strong, I expected something more elegant. On the palate the age is much more obvious. Nevertheless, funky, fruity and a nice smokiness. See details above. The finish is also young and Jamaican with some Mezcal. Overall a really nice drop and I am looking forward to try it in a Daiquiri.

8,4:On the nose, a pleasant surprise with esters, overripe, fermented tropical fruits like pineapple, banana and strawberry, a few seconds later also lemon joins.A wood is spicy and roasted with sweet pastry, vanilla. On aeration a molasses is vegetal, fruits become candied, the rum is nicely balanced. 8,5:On the palate, the attack is again very fruity, estery with tropical fruits, strawberry covered with honey, joined with citrus like lemon, orange peel, the wood is roasted with caramel, sweet pastry, spicy with vanilla, salty, as the molasses is vegetal, with resting becomes earthy, floral, a bit waxy.Candied fruits and a cherry balance vegetal molasses. 8,4:The finish is long, milder, dry but still round and tasty, sweet with honey, some new stuff showing like notes of rubber, nuts, confectionery with crunchy bread, bitter orange, some cinnamon..

An enjoyable rum, lots of Jamaica on the nose that's for sure, esters and tropical Fruits. Not quite so much in the mouth but still good, more tropical fruits with a lingering sweetness which made me think why that could be? A nice everyday rum.

From the smell I would have guessed an unaged, fruity and fresh. The taste doesn't really pick me up. Very alcoholic and sharp-edged. Not a classic rum from Barbados, unfortunately. The finish is short and flat.
