Chairman‘s Reserve Master‘s Selection (Single Cask Exclusive for Germany) 2010
Most tasters land in the "very good" camp: a lovely tropical-fruit nose (mango, pineapple, guava) with caramel and oak, then a hard pivot to a dark, dry, heavily spiced and woody palate. A few call the wood and pepper too much to chew on, and several note the 62.3% could be better integrated — a couple drops of water opens it up. That John Dore pot-still smoke and "medical bandage" note divides people.

Review by Boletus
Once again, St. Lucia delivers an enormously high quality in the glass, considering the price. The tropical fruit basket with the natural basic sweetness of brown sugar and molasses in combination with the not exaggerated, toasty-smoky oak spice is a delight for the nose and palate. Unfortunately, this Master's Selection is a little less powerful and does not have quite as long-lasting esters as cask #0420063008 (Kirsch Import), but it is round, drinkable and has a very well-integrated alcohol content.

Messebewertung Village Nürnberg 2025 Super solider Chairman‘s mit tollen tropischen Fruchtnoten (alles dabei von Mango, Guave, Banane, Papaya bis zur Ananas), Rosine, Gewürz, Karamell und viel Fass. Toller Rum.

The nose of this St. Lucia is beguiling. Sweet/sour fruits (berries), combined with caramel, wood and a little vanilla. Very promising. On the palate this play of aromas continues at first... but then it changes to the dark side. Extremely bitter, spicy and woody, it's quite chewy. You have to like it, it's a bit too much for me. Dried plums appear late in the finish

It is difficult for me to discern. The profile alternates between wood and fruit with esters flashing up again and again. It's not boring for a second, but conversely it's also very diffuse. Therefore, it doesn't quite want to pick me up, but conversely can be "rediscovered" again and again... For me, St Lucia often resembles a ride on the razor's edge, which often succeeds, but doesn't quite fit for me here. 87/100 or 6/10
