A rum of a certain quality which is a little expensive for what it is... Very woody and a slightly light finish. Not my kind of rum!

Personally, it has a little too little fruit notes for me, but is otherwise a very nice and balanced Vieux rhum Agricole! In the finish, wood, tobacco, herbs and some banana peel shake hands... Makes for a gigantic French Rhum Manhattan!

Has my recommendation, it’s really great, but I have choose the XO for my rumbar from Neisson. Tasted this one out at the Baltic Sea at an Masterclass during a rum cruise with Birka Cruises. Lots of wood, vanilla and fruitiness in it.

A Neisson classic. The nose opens with woody, spicy and earthy notes, accompanied by sugar cane, lemon and honey. The mouth continues on this nice roundness with a vegetal touch. The finish on the other hand is rather short. In spite of a pronounced sweetness and a rather high price positioning for a VO, this rum is still appreciable.

Typical Neisson with macaroons and tart freshness. A hint of animal notes on the nose. The best part is the finish with citrus and dried fruit, really great. Sure, it's not a 12 or 15 ans, but it has everything that makes a Neisson, just less complex, not very strong, but drinkable. PLV is awesome.🤩

8,1:On the nose, the first impression we get is an authentic Martinique rum.A sugarcane is juicy, very vegetal, with honey, peppery, fresh and sweet, fruity with citrus, tropical fruits like passion fruit and some yellow like peaches, earthy.It is mineral, also very floral. On aeration, dryness comes out, dried fruits, woody notes.The nose is in balance between dry and mellow, peppery and suave, a very beautiful scene. 8:On the palate, the attack is silky and warm, cane is velvety and floral, slightly herbaceous, juicy, fermented, then becomes increasingly spicy/peppery, then rather sharp, a coppery sensation is wiping the tasting buds and a hint of a licorice.The fruits are tropical with passion fruit, yellow with peaches and still dried, the wood brings resin, nuts. 7,7:The finish is vegetal, the cane is still flowery, juicy, dry, some wood notes are present, pepper, with a bitterness of lime peel a hint of mint....

An der Nase merkt man das noch recht junge Alter, er kommt eher über die fruchtig-pflanzliche, leicht säuerliche Schiene (im Vergleich zu den 12-15jährigen), es gibt aber auch nussige Noten, Karamell, Vanille. Am Gaumen sehr rund und weich. Gefällt mir gut! Vielen Dank nach Wien für das Sample!

This one was a huge surprise. The price tag on this bottle is very good considering what you get. Super high quality at a very good price. The nose is very well balanced between wood and fruit which is trailed by vanilla, nuts and a hint of honey. The palate is complex and balanced with wood, wood tannins and fruit trailed by vanilla and sugarcane. The finish is medium long with wood, fruits and vanilla with a hint of nuts. A very good buy indeed!

Looks like a solid/typical from Neisson. Very enjoyable from start to the finish. I like that! The alcohol and barrel is integrated very well. The finish is awesome! Some typical agricole notes paired with almonds, licorice and ginger 🤤

Schöner Rum von Neisson. In der Nase hat man überwiegend Holz, etwas Vanille ist auch erkennbar. Am Gazmen ist das Holz-/Vanilleverhältnis dann etwas ausgeglichener. Außerdem ist er am Gaumen noch recht würzig.

Neisson dances out of line as far as Martinique rums are concerned. Clearly more herbal and more sugar cane on the nose. In addition, a very special milk note like yogurt, fruit and spices. A younger, but still complex Agricole.

Très agréable à boire, le nez est gourmand abricot et poire au sirop vanillé rehaussée d un petit côté floral et boisé. En bouche on débute par une légère vivacité , puis du gourmand et boisé. Final reste dans un boisé / sucré vanillé.

Verpackt in ein sehr rundes und weiches Gesamtpaket, bekommt der Genießer mit diesem Rhum einen schönen Einstieg in die Welt von Neisson geboten. Die pflanzliche Seite des Agricoles ist klar erkennbar, aber zu keinem Moment dominant oder ins Gemüsige abdriftend. Stattdessen schmeicheln honigsüße Zuckerrohrnoten, viele gelbe Früchte, ein paar Kräuter und feine Eiche mit sanften Gewürzen.

La trame Neisson est plutôt reconnaissable sur ce rhum dont le nez est dominé par la vanille, le bois et la canne. Du poivre vient s'ajouter en bouche, des notes fruitées et herbacées. Finale boisée. C'est doux et agréable. Toujours agréable d'avoir cette cane étonnement fraîche malgré l'âge du rhum.

Le nez est agréable, très fruité. Je crois que leur Vieux est un profil 105 resté plus de 3 ans en fût de chêne. L'ananas bien mûr ressort bien, avec un fond de banane ou de miel. Son vieillissement n'a pas enlevé les accents de canne fraîche. Un second nez révèle la vanille très présente. Bref, ça sent bon et ça promet de l'excellence sur la suite. La bouche est plus sur les épices. Elle déçoit dans le sens où elle ne comble pas les attentes du nez. C'est discret, avec un peu de canne sur fond de poivre gris. Et c'est tout. Aucune complexité, aucune richesse aromatique, pas vraiment d'émotion. Un Clément VO fait mieux, un HSE Black Sheriff a plus de caractère, un Depaz Cuvée Victor offre une profusion d'arômes en bouche. La finale nous fait juste penser "c'est tout ?". La canne reste présente tout du long mais sans rien de plus.

My first rum from Neisson and it’s a good start. Surprised me with its complexity. The herbal notes of agricoles are hard to find. The sweet spices like vanilla are more toned, beside that I feel some dried fruits and sugarcane notes. I love its roundness, probably will look for other releases as well.

Une valeur sûre de chez Neisson qui nous déçoit rarement. Il est boisé et épicé, très rond. Il se laisse boire facilement même s'il est assez complexe si on prend le temps de bien le laisser aérer. Sa finale est un peu courte à mon goût mais compte tenu de son faible degré ça se tient. C'est un rhum qui m'a beaucoup plu sans pour autant m'extasier. Je le recommande c'est un classique.

Frais au nez et plutôt sec en bouche. Finale un peu courte. Un agricole bien construit qui glisse tout seul. Le seul reproche que je pourrais lui faire est peut être son prix un peu elevé rapport à son âge et son degré et un petit décalage en terme de complexité à l'avantage du nez.

03/10/2025: Neisson tasting @ TasTToe. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. A lot of candy like notes on the nose and palate, without being overly sweet. Great bottle to introduce people to agricole rhum. I would've liked a slightly higher ABV though.

Vraiment bien foutu au niveau de l'équilibre ce rhum agricole. Ne sort pas des sentiers battus mais je dois dire que c'est bien fait. C'est ce qu'on attend de cette bouteille. Bon kiff 20/06/2026 : l'équilibre est le premier mot qui me vient a la 1ere gorgée. On a un peu de fruits avec de la pomme, de l'epice avec de la vanille et un petit qlq'chose de piquant type piment, un peu de boisé qui n'écrase pas le côté végétal avec de la canne qui pointe le bout de son nez, quelques fruits a coques avec de l'amande. Tout est bien équilibré mais sans que rien ne puisse s'affirmer a fond et se démarquer. Bon rhum

Nase: Honig, Vanille, allerlei Gräser (feucht und auch getrocknet), Zitronenzeste, Marzipan, feine Kräuter, Mandarinchen-Sahnetorte, Eichenwürze. Gaumen: Cremig und recht voll im Mund. Süße und säuerliche Noten sind in guter Balance. Auch hier sehr "grasig". Vanille, Honig, Jutebeutel, Kräuter, ein Hauch von tropischen Früchten in der Biotonne, Makronen, Milchschokolade, Maracuja, Eichenwürze. Abgang: Mittellanges bis langes Finish. Vanille, tropische Früchte, Milchschokolade, Sahnetorte mit Maracuja. Gefällt mir gut! Die (nur sehr zarten) Esternoten bringen hier das gewisse Etwas mit.

Nose is delicate with lemon and sugar cane. The mouth opens up with more honey and sugar cane as well a light spice and brioche. The finish is fairly short but brings more spice and wood, softening to a fairly sweet banana element. It’s actually a rum which grows with time, give it more time to sit and relax with the flavour and more depth comes through. Maybe a tad underpowered and thin on the finish but otherwise a very well put together agricole. Pushing an 8.0 and may update my score

Kräftiger Aquricolrum welcher das Zuckerrohr in der Nase als auch auf dem Gaumen durch holzige Aromen in den Hintergrund stellt. Auch das typische Aroma von frischem Gras nimmt man in der Nase nicht war. Hier sind fruchtige von Doerpflaume und evtl. Ananas wahrzunehmen
