CDI South Pacific Fiji 2004
"Not typically Fiji" is the line that keeps coming up — this single cask leans quieter than the distillery's usual character. Expect raisins, caramel and a nutty, chocolatey palate that turns clearly sweet with clove and light wood. A couple of tasters find the body thin, one even calls it close to neutral; others just enjoy the fruit. Pleasant, easygoing, not loud.

28.03.2015 Whiskymessen Out for myself this time and met up with new enthusiasts and we had a great party after the event. Notes Light to medium dark in colour. Nose Light wood and roasted notes, light coconut, citrus, light grass, clove. Palate Fresh, spicy, light wood, faint smoke, light coconut, floral, sweet, clove, fruits, faint malt. Finish Medium long, wood, light roasted, spice, warm, fruits.

What's wrong with the 2004 vintage from South Pacific? It doesn't taste at all like Fiji, but very boring like neutral alcohol!

Good rum with a somewhat thin taste. Probably a little better at cask strength, but nice fruitiness. A little lacking in typical Fiji characteristics for my taste, but all in all a very good rum.

Nose: Dried fruits such as raisins with chocolaty aromas and sweetish tendencies, caramel. Palate: The rum knows how to pamper with nutty and chocolaty aromas. Clearly sweet with spicy notes. Finish: Dried fruit, slightly woody. Conclusion: Pleasant rum with distinctly sweet tendencies.

Un joli nez floral fruité et le tout dans la douceur de la réglisse... Un bon moment en préparation? Une bouche complexe florale épicée servie par un degré alcoolique bien dosé... Une fin moyenne courte qui laisse la douceur de la mélasse. N'hésitez pas à faire revenir les arômes dans le nez... Celà intensifie cette caractéristique de mélasse... Un très bon Rhum qui vous invite aux Fidjis et aux voyages
