The nose offers an absolutely fantastic interplay of aromas. Overripe tropical fruits demand our full attention, while medicinal-mineral notes elegantly flank the bouquet and offer an almost endlessly deep aroma that delights time and time again. On the palate, the complexity diminishes somewhat, but remains at an impressive level. Unfortunately, the world of flavors here increasingly veers towards chemical dental treatment, which no longer gives me unlimited pleasure - even without dental phobia, I don't miss anything when enjoying a rum if I am not reminded of the last dental hygiene session either olfactorily or gustatorily. However, I consider the potential of these high ester bombs to be extremely high and I'm really looking forward to seeing what else awaits us. I therefore see the enjoyment of this distillate as a promise for the future, apart from all the fascination.

Wow, das sample geöffnet und die ganze Bude riecht nach Fruchtestern. Wahnsinnig intensiv. Direkt am Glas ordentlich Nagellack, wie man es von high Ester Rums kennt. Der Gaumen steht dem in absolut nichts nach. Volle Kanne Power. Tolle Erdbeernote und trotz des absurden Estercounts (2600) richtig gut zu trinken. Erinnert mich irgendwie an das Zeug beim Zahnarztbesuch mit diesem künstlichen Bananenaroma. Ich wünschte soeinen geilen Rum gäbe es zu kaufen. Das aus Barbados solche Dinger kommen ist überwältigend.

Wow, was für ein Teil! 2500 Ester, mehr als alles was von Jamaika kennt (und das auch gesetzlich so geregelt ist)! Zeug, dass nicht mal der Nerd pur trinkt. Also nicht zu gebrauchen? Ganz und gar nicht! In Barbados mixen sie das Zeug in ihre Blends und genau das macht es so interessant! Die geschmacksgebende Essenz vieler Blends aus Barbados, seit über hundert Jahren produziert, ohne dass die Mehrheit davon weiß! Es macht riesig Spaß, dieses Teufelszeug zu entdecken, zu verstehen und irgendwie auch zu lieben!

Wir brauchen ein neues Attribut für den Geruch: Aceton! Beim vorsichtigen riechen beobachte ich ein mir bisher unbekanntes Phänomen: die Nasenmukosa bzw. das Riechepithel scheint sich zusammen zu ziehen, Wie eine Art Schutzreaktion. Und das wohl nicht wegen übermäßigem Alkohol sondern wegen des Geruchs nach Lösungsmittel/Aceton. Andere nutzen solche Flüssigkeiten als Verdünnung und wir schnuppern begeistert dran um es dann zu trinken 🤪 Mit Wasser geht es auf einmal Richtung Zitrusfrüchte! Am Gaumen dann ein schon unangenehm intensiver Geschmack nach Plastik und Chemie. Erst dahinter Ester und Frucht - irres Zeug. Zeigt mir, dass "Estercount" nicht alles ist! Die enorme Intensität verebbt im Nachklang relativ schnell aber verbleibt auf einem absolut gesehen hohen Niveau. Hier steckt auf jeden Fall eine Menge Potential! Tolle Erfahrung zusammen mit Alexandre in der RumX Masterclass!

RumX masterclass Planteray, 4.4.24, live mit Alexandre Gabriel. Nachtasting. Das hier war, neben dem vielen Spannenden, das Alexandre zu erzählen hatte, das klare Highlight am Abend. Eines, das seinem Namen alle Ehre macht: Ein Monster mit 2.600 gr/hl Ester und 56%. Wahnsinn! Nase: oha, Ester total. Intensiv, kräftig und konzentriert. Aber anders wie bei den DOKs dieser Welt sehr viel Zitrus-fruchtiger. Zitrone, Limette, Passionsfrucht, Ananas und Sauerkirsche. Orangeat und Zitronat zusammen mit einer maroden-Süße. Apfelessig und Lösungsmittel hinterher. Irgendwie berauschend. 8,8 Gaumen: krass! Heftige Zitrus-Ester. Zitrone, Limette, wieder künstlich-intensives Orangeat und Zitronat. Sehr adstringent und sauer. Hat etwas von Zitrus-Reiniger oder -Spüli. Hinten überreife Ananas. 8,6 Toll, so etwas mal probieren zu dürfen. Ob so etwas in den Handel kommt, bleibt abzuwarten. Darin bestärkt haben wie Alexandre auf jeden Fall.

Ester Overkill. 2600 Ester, d.h.: Zimmer riecht nach 3 x Lüften immernich nach Estern. Im Mund sind die Ester noch am Folgetag schmeckbar, trotz Mundspülung und Zähneputzen. In der Nase das volle Esterbrett, wie wir davon Jamica kennen: vergorene Früchte, Lack etc. Geschmacklich dann ganz anders als Jamaika: sauer, aber nicht fruchtsauer, leichte Bitternote, Plastik, künstlich, eher die Fiji Ecke. Ein Erlebnis, aber ein extremes. Nix zum Sippen, obwohl ich ein großer DOK Fan bin. Extreme Rumerfahrung für Fortgeschrittene.

Planteray RumX Masterclass by Alexandre 04.04.2024: Heftige Ester-Bombe und Überraschung des Abends. Ich weiß nicht ob ich jemals einen Rum im Glas hatte der so fruchtig und sauer war. Klebstoff und Lösungsmittel sind auch da, aber nicht so stark wie erwartet. Um Abgang kommt gaaaanz zum Schuss eine medizinische Note, wie die Mullbinden beim Zahnarzt. Noch nicht ausgereift, aber da steckt ganz viel Potential drin.

Plantation Masterclass. Mit Abstand (vieeeeeeeel Abstand) der beste Rum aus dem Set. Richtig geiles Zeug. Ester, Holz, Frucht, alles da. Bitte mehr davon. Am Anfang Blindwette auf Trelawny. Aber dann kommen neue, trockenere Noten dazu. Am Gaumen dann immer noch intensiv, aber komplett anders. Ein bisschen wie der erste Hight Ester Savanna. Wirklich ganz großes Kino. Hoffentlich kommt davon mehr.

#4688 04.04.2024 Online tasting wit RumX and Plantaray. Nose Intense, ester, fruity, overripe, light glue, sweet. Palate Intense, ester, faint glue, fruity, overripe, light floral. Finish Intense, very long and warm, ester, light glue, citrus. This is ester with esters on top and still extremely well balanced with even better ABV integration. Hope they will bottle this in the future.

Spannend und faszinierend. Einfach toll den Rum probiert zu haben. Super intensiv auf allen Ebenen. Aber ist der Rum lecker? Schwierig. Viel Säure. Nach 30-45min im Glas wird es besser. Auch am Gaumen viel Säure. Der Abgang super trocken. Ester all over the Place. Daher schwer zu bewerten. Aber ich bin ehrlich. Ich will definitiv mehr davon.

Finally I get to this one, and I brought it with me to my vacation. Even unopened I already could sniff it's aroma, and opened it was clear that this is a high Ester rum. Very fruit,y, typical nose. I like that. The tongue... Not so much. I had to dilute it a bit, as it was just so... Intense. There is fruit and Ester galore, it kept changing while tasting it. This I liked very much, and in the end I had even something unusual, a taste of cookie dough.

Eine wirkliche Esterbombe. Schon beim einziehen ins Glas strömen die herrlichen Aromen heraus. Funky leicht süßlicher Klebstoff. Im Mund wird der Funk sofort zu einer Säuerlichen erdbeere/sauerkirsche mit Honig. Alkohol verfliegt jedoch recht schnell, aber die zitusnoten bleiben lang am Gaumen kleben. Bin gespannt auf diese Abfüllung 😍

Masterclass mit Alexandre Gabriel am 04.04.2024. Plantation wird Planteray. Also dieser Rum war die absolute Bombe von allen. Ein bißchen Zahnarzt, Lösungsmittel und als ich ein wenig mit den Resten gespielt habe, kam dieser Krasse künstliche Erdbeer-HubbaBubba Geschmack hervor, der gefühlt Stunden anhielt. Ich will mehr davon!!!

Planteray/Plantation RumX Online Masterclass: What a monster. Incredibly aromatic and fruity, lots of ester but surprisingly almost without the strenuous nail polish, glue notes that Jamaica high ester usually brings with it. Almost a kind of easy sipping high ester, if you like. An extremely positive surprise! Very tasty!

Brutal funky in der Nase und hier hatt er seinen absoluten Höhepunkt. Die Holznoten und der Alkohol wirken eher unrund im Geschmack Der Ester usw. macht alles in allem schon Spass aber irgendwie fehlt mir die Geschmeidigkeit. Der Abgang ist für eine Highendwertung auch zu mau.

This is insane stuff! Very, very nice. We can only hope to get our hands on bottlings of this to experiment and enjoy more of this. Also any aged casks obviously would be a blast to try. Thanks to Alexandre and the RumX Team for the masterclass!

There's the 2600 Ester Monster, called Hugo. Hugo is definitely a highlight to drink something in this category. Lots of DOK on the nose with an extra kick. In the mouth there is the DOK contrast,,,hard to identify fruit. A little tart...not my cup of tea. In the finish it gets better with fruit...even if only subtly, I'm curious what's still to come but currently rather NOPE.

Wow, volle ester power. Overripe, rotten fruits. Pineapples, bananas, strawberries, the full fruit basket. Very intense! But more… digestible compared to a DOK, would be great to do a cross tasting between the 2 high ester releases.

Plantation Tasting 4. April Tolle Nase, erinnert mich an die Frische von New Yarmouth. Sehr schön! Im Mund sehr intensiv, vor allem saure Ananas. Das eine Glas reicht definitiv, für mich aber trotzdem das Highlight des tastings.

Wahnsinn, Esterbombe hoch zehn. Apfel, Ananas, Banane, Zitrus, Klebstoff, Lösungsmittel, etwas Marzipan oder Kandiertes. Komplexität hält sich wahrhaftig in Grenzen, aber dieser Rum macht auch so Spaß. Abgang dauert sehr lange an!

Sagen wir einfach die ganze Bude riecht nach 1cl Sample im Glas für 10 Minuten nach Klebstoff und sehr Reifen Obst - und belassen es dabei. Absolut wild was hier abgeht, Ester bei 2600, hier ist tatsächlich alles "Monster" :D

Beeindruckender Rum von Planteray, den ich so nicht erwartet habe. Absolute Geschmacksexlosion mit reichlich Ester und Früchten. Ein sehr intensiver Rum der lange im Abgang anhält. Absolute Empfehlung an jeden der Ester mag.

Die Nase ist viel versprechend, der Gaumen dann eher mau. Fühlt sich für mich so an als würde der Estergeschmack sich überschlagen und auslöschen. Der gereifte TECC bietet mir da mehr.
