Anyone chasing a soft, chocolate-forward Cuban sipper will find something to like here: dark chocolate, vanilla, a little dried fruit and a mild, well-buried 40% burn. Several tasters call it balanced and complex for a low-proof column rum, but just as many find it "recht charakterlos" — pleasant, then gone. The flashy decanter draws more comment than the liquid.

Though this is a costly glass it's well worth the money and you should try it at least once in your life. This bottling is released in a limited number every year so there is always a chance to taste it. A perfectly balanced and complex rum from Havana Club.

for over 1000€ 0.5 liters of rum and then not even a proper age statement is a cheek. the thing is just a prestige object nothing more, the only thing that costs money here is the valuable bottle design. taste but not much better than pampero anniversario, millonario XO etc... for the money you could easily buy 15 single casks... pity! very pity!

Ok, here I’m pleasantly surprised. As a low proof column rum, this is very intense and complex. For that I rate this as very good. Obviously, the price is in no way ok for what you get. Interesting to see this as an Havanna Club bottling nevertheless.

11.04.2026 Franconian Tasting Gang Treffen bei Rumurmel. Naja nachdem ich beim probieren den Preis von der Flasche nicht wusste, hätte ich ihn als relative solide für den ABV konform eingeschätzt. Für mich ein reines Sammlerobjekt zum prahlen mit einer 250kg schweren Flasche. Nett aber absoluter Wucherpreis.
