A sample taken at the German Rum Festival 2024. A lovely nose of soft caramel and very ripe tropical fruit. Very little machine shop and a little spicy. The palate is a little unbalanced, dry and not very pleasant. Although it has everything that makes Caroni famous. The finish is rather long, but less than you'd expect from a Caroni. A nice fruity finish comes in at the very end to save this disappointing rum on the palate and in the finish.

And another continental '98 Caroni. Nice piece, contains the typical notes known from this non-tropical vintage. Personally, far too one-dimensional and meaningless for me. Somehow something is missing here. In short, when you swallow it, you can count down from 10 and then the experience is already over. There are better wines from this vintage.

Sehr ölige Konsistenz im Glas mit dicken einzelnen Tropfen, die träge ins Glas zurückrinnen. Die Nase gefällt mir schon sehr gut: reichhaltig und intensiv, Caroni-Dreck ist ebenfalls da und der Alkohol scheint gut eingebunden zu sein. Interessanterweise finde ich auch Waldhonig! Am Gaumen viel Süße und fruchtig aber auch ausreichend Gummi und Teer 😉 und wieder Waldhonig. Gleitender Übergang zum langen Nachklang mit mehr Fassnoten und Trockenheit neben dem Caroni-Dreck. Für mich ein sehr stimmiger Caroni. Honig und Minze ergeben eine spannende "medizinische" Mischung. Preis und Genuss stehen m.M.n. bei dieser Lost Distillery aber schon lange in keinem gesunden Verhältnis mehr.

GRF13: This is a Caroni that plays the field more on the dirty side. I still like the nose best, as at least there is still a noticeable amount of fruit there. 8.6 It loses something on the palate. It's not complex enough for me and the alcohol is not particularly well integrated. 8.2 The finish is ultimately far too short for a Caroni. A pretty good entry-level Caroni.

#5407 18.06.2025 Enjoying a few samples after work while relaxing in front of the telly 😊 Nose Wood, light roasted, light tar, light rubber, fruits, light cherry, spice, light mint, faint medicinal. Palate Wood, tar, rubber, spice, faint smoke, faint nutts, light mint, fruits, light medicinal. Finish Medium long, wood, light mint, light cherry, light rubber, light tar, spice, faint chocolate. Empty glass Light tar and rubber, light honey, light fruits, mint, faint herbal. This is a Caroni where the finish is pretty short compared to normal. Needs to rest to balance out the ABV which is a bit off from the start. Pretty light in my mind and could be a rum for a Caroni beginner, though the tar and rubber are well present. Heute kam schnell das neues Triplesamplepaket von Rum Artesanal an. Deswegen extra nicht auf dem GRF probiert. Der Caroni macht an und für sich nicht falsch aber auch nichts wirklich gut. Nach etwas Zeit kommen typische Noten eines 98iger Caronis in der Nase und auf der Zunge. Er ist sehr entspannt zu trinken und schmeckt ganz gut.

Klassisches HTR-Profil, für den 1998er Jahrgang auf der milden, süssen Seite unterwegs. Drecknoten sehr gut eingebunden, schöne Karamell-Vanille-Einschläge, dunkle Gewürze, Fassnoten. Im Abgang trocken und für einen HTR mit relativ zurückhaltendem Nachhall. Solider Caroni.

An der Nase das klassische Caroni Profil. Am Gaumen ganz lecker fruchtig-dreckig, ohne besonderes Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Für mich prinzipiell ein guter Rum, der seinen Preis aber keinesfalls wert ist.

Zur top Note fehlt die Fruchtige Note an Nase und Gaumen. Sonst sind die Caroni typisch dreckigen Noten in Form von Teer und Gummi präsent. Solide, ordentliche Abfüllung, den Preis aufgerufenen Preis aber bei weitem nicht wert.

Deutlich klassischer Caroni Style als der Vorgänger 98er von RA. Würzig rauchig, dreckig, leicht fruchtig, mehr Fass und deutlich trockener. Alkohol ist ziemlich gut integriert. Stabiler caroni aber keine Offenbarung.

Que dire de se Caroni … C’est pas mal c’est bon ça se boit bien mais malheureusement on est très loin des grands crus qu’ a pu sortir cette distillerie Pour ceux qui ne connaissent pas à découvrir, c’est pas mal pour commencer pour ceux qui ont de l’expérience dans le Caroni, passer votre tour Après tout n’est pas négatif, mais on reste sur sa faim un peu avec la longueur en bouche 😅

... Caroni je destilerie z Trinidadu, produkujici v dobe sve nejvetsi slavy rum, ktery se pridaval v pomeru 1:10 do namornickeho blendu. Byl totiz moc vyrazny a divny nez aby byl prijemny na jazyku. V roce 2000 destilerka skoncila s produkci a byla uzavrena. Az v roce 2010 se objevili degustatori, kteri si rum oblibili prave pro jeho specialni chut. A zajem rostl. Caroni patri do kategorie rumu "you need to try before you die". Doporucuji, Caroni je opravdu unikatni rum.

Un Rhum avec des effluves de goudron et caramel . Ce n’est pas très typé Caroni et la puissance en bouche est importante . Le palais est un peu séchard et en bouche la langue pique … c’est cependant un Rhum puissant

Some smoke and oak Palate classics Caroni. Rubber, tar and medicinal. Not as punchy as other Caroni’s. Medium finish. Could not taste it as long as usual.
