Surprise for a Hampden: this one drinks soft. Reduced down from cask strength, it trades some of the vintage's raw power for a creamy, approachable palate — ripe pineapple, green banana, ester and a marzipan-like sweetness, with young oak arriving late. The alcohol is very well integrated. Fans note the finish runs shorter than a big <>H usually does.

Zweite Verkostung in Kombination mit einer exquisiten dunklen Schokolade: Eine hervorragende Kombination! Die Schokolade nimmt dem Rum die Spitzen der alkoholischen Schärfe, eine tolle Kombination! (Wertung unverändert) Kräftiger, intensiver Eindruck an der Nase. Viel tropische Früchte (reife Ananas und grüne Banane), erinnert mich sehr an Rum-Backaroma. Der Alkohol ist kaum zu spüren. Am Gaumen ebenso intensiv und schön ausgewogen mit Süße, Würze und Fassnoten. Wieder kein störender Alkohol. Im Nachklang entdecke ich die typische leich salzige Bitterkeit, die mich auch an grüne Oliven erinnert. Sehr guter Rum, nach meinem Empfinden mindestens so gut wie die GH Abfüllungen, deshalb 8,8 als Wertung

Edit: nach 2 Tagen mit viel Luft in der Flasche ist er schön cremig im Mund, nicht anstrengend sonder super sippig. Nochmal nach oben korrigert. Außerdem hat er super Vorhänge im Glas, wie Kevin sagen würde. Franconian Tasting Gang am 02.03.2024. Die frisch geöffnete Flasche aus dem Split musste sich hier mit seinen Konkurrenten des Jahrgangs 2013/2014 <>H messen. Als Fazit zu diesem hier, hat er den niedrigsten ABV, was ihm aber Meinung nach gut tut. Insgesamt ist dies der süffigste wegen dem niedrigeren ABV. Aber bei dem Vergleich ging es bei mir nur um Nuancen.

Alkohol ist top eingebunden. Leichte angenehme Süße. Schöne tropische Fruchtaromen mit angenehmer Cremigkeit. Im direkten Vergleich mit Abfüllungen aus dem Jahrgang mit höheren Alkoholgehalt fehlt ihm die Power und Intensität. Aber das ist trotzdem eine runde Abfüllung.

Blind cross tasting among some 2013/2014 <>H bottlings: As all of the bottlings were rather nice, this one is no exception. Side by side, however, the dilution is very noticeable in this bottling, reducing the funkiness and power the others display and which I particularly like. Therefore last place for the Morisco for me.

Im Blindtasting gegen den Nobilis no14, den Wu Dram, den CoR und den HV hat dieser für mich ziemlich gut abgeschnitten. Mit dem HV, den Nobilis (der seit knapp 2 Jahren offen ist) ist dieser der Anführer der Runde. Vor allem in der Nase ist er am reichsten.

Die Nase dieses <>H ist schön klassisch mit Frucht, Estern und Süsse.. am Gaumen erstaunlich leicht und weich. Anfangs eine Marzipansüsse gepaart mit Estern und Frucht. Später gesellt sich junges Holz dazu. Der Alkohol ist sehr gut eingebunden. Erstaunlich ist der relativ kurze Abgang für dieses Mark.. das bin ich etwas anders gewohnt. Spät entwickelt sich im Abgang eine leichte Bitternote. Das kostet ihn 0,1 Punkte

Klassisches junges Hampden-Profil, das neben den typischen Fruchtestern mit Einschlägen von Milchsäure aufwartet. Die gemischte Lagerung aus tropischer sowie kontinentaler Reifung bringt eine interessante Kombi zum Tragen - einerseits ist die Fülle der tropisch gelagerten High Ester Marques erkennbar, gleichzeitig finden aber auch das Holz und die zitrische Säure etwas mehr statt. In der Nase wie auch am Gaumen aromatisch im positiven Sinne intensiv - gelungenes Release.

Spannend im Vergleich mit der Abfüllung vom WDC. Wirkt wie eine runter gesetzte Version, da schon sehr ähnlich. Viel Säure und ein Stück süßer. Weniger Wärme dafür cremiger. Entfaltet sich nicht so schön, dafür zugänglicher. Schwere Kiste. Mir fehlt etwas im direkten Vergleich. Ansonsten eine tolle Abfüllung.

C’est plutôt bien fait mais pour moi on sent trop la réduction, j’aime les watts 😅 Cependant, la « douceur » en bouche n’est pas désagréable et ce jus développe de beaux arômes. La longueur est un peu courte pour ce genre de Mark (H)
