Cream toffee, burnt caramel and a surprising strawberry-candy fruitiness lead here, backed by oak, roasted nuts and vanilla. It's a 2006 TDL that leans soft and Spanish-style, and nearly every taster notes it barely reads as Trinidad — several would blind-guess Foursquare. Sweet and dessert-like up front, but the finish turns dry, bitter and a touch short. Pleasant, if not quite what people hoped for.

-un beau boisé, quelques fruits confits… une pâtisserie à la groseille ? - les fruits du TDL sont encore la, bien marqués, plutôt jaunes ? Pêche et fraise ? Les épices sont aussi de la partie pour relever le tout ! - Finale : caramel assez amer, un peu de beurre également ! Seule déception, mon menthol habituel nez pas la, sinon on a vraiment de très beaux fruits, c’est ultra gourmand, gras, ça tartine bien le palai

Globalement j'ai bien aimé. On retrouve bien les fruits rouges, le boisé et le côté caramel en bouche qui me plaisent bien. On pourrait penser à du foursquare La final en moyennement longue et se poursuit sur di caramel/épice/boisé Peut être pas du classique trinidad mais il me plaît bien 😀

Un TDL qui se situe dans la partie douce de l’archétype de la distillerie. Le nez offre de belles fragrances pâtissières sur le toffee et le caramel, les épices douces (vanille, poivre) et les noix rôties. On décèle un peu de fruits rouges et une fraîcheur discrète qui rappelle les profils plus lourds de TDL. C’est un profil plus facile d’accès. L’attaque en bouche revient vers ce côté caramélisé et mielleux d’une grande gourmandise. Les fruits sont également plus présents, notamment la pêche, l’ananas et les fruits secs qui donnent un peu de fraîcheur en bouche. Le profil reste d’une grande rondeur avec le chêne légèrement pimenté, le cuir, le cacao, la vanille et les noix. L’alcool est bien intégré. La finale est plus tranchante avec le reste du profil : les tanins, le cuir, le tabac à cigare, les notes fumées et boisées apportent quelque chose de plus sec et rustre en fin de bouche. Si les fruits sont quasiment disparus, le chocolat noir et le caramel beurré prennent la relève pour un soupçon de gourmandise. Peut-être pas le profil le plus extravagant qu’il soit, mais sûrement un TDL plus grand public qui permettra de faire découvrir le genre.

First impression of sampling. Quite nice, but not a great runaway to the top. Alcohol well integrated and quite drinkable due to the 58%. More will follow in peace. Well, after tasting it again, I don't think it's that bad. Stick to my first impression, it tastes good.

Mkay… Is this one wrong labeled, isn’t it? Blindly I would never classify this one as a Rum from Trinidad. It’s not a bad rum, it just doesn’t fit my expectations from Trinidad… Nose: Pastries, Fruity (Strawberries?!?), cream toffee, woody, oak, roasted, leather, with a hint of vegetal notes. Palate: fruity, spicy, oak, vanilla, leather, more vegetal and floral notes. Finish: Medium long, dry almost astringend, woody, oak, leather (reminds me on old, broken leather stuff)

Bouteille sympa, qui n’a pas trop le profil d’un TDL ! Exit le menthol les fruits rouges on est sur un profil tourné vers le caramel et les agrumes.

Le nez est très fruité et doux. La bouche est plus relevée avec des notes végétales et fumées. La finale est sur les mêmes notes, un peu plus amère. L'ensemble fait penser à un vieux Foursquare, avec un peu moins d'harmonie.

Der 2006er Jahrgang von T.D.L geht wohl Richtung spanischen Stil. Hatte schon die Abfüllung von Schotmam im Glas und die sind sich recht ähnlich vom Profil. Der hier mit etwas besser integrierten Alkohol. Ansonsten Vanille, Milchschokolade, Trockenfrüchte, leichte Süße und etwas Holz. Nicht verkehrt, aber auch nichts was von T.D.L erwarte.

Beaucoup de groseilles au nez, un peu de caramel, on sait qu on est chez tdl, mais on sent que c est léger. La bouche confirme l impression. C est bon, mais trop léger en bouche. Arff le mot qui ressort de cette degustain est : dommage ... j en attendais plus.

Le nez m'est d'abord apparu fruité (fraise notamment). Puis le bois. Quelques temps après, c'est le caramel qui occupe le terrain. Un caramel légèrement brûlé. En bouche, l'alcool est mordant et insuffisamment intégré. Le bois domine. Le caramel est toujours là. C'est sucré et gourmand. Sympa mais l'alcool est trop présent pour moi.. Édit : un goutte d'eau lui amène plus de rondeur et atténue la présence de l'alcool. Je pense que cette bouteille aurait gagnée à être réduite de quelques degrés encore.

Tasted at Rhum Fest Paris 2024 Unusual as a TDL, we're often used to a fresh minty note that here is completely missing along with some dirtiness. Indeed it's not a bad rum, yet a light one closer to Spanish stile and far from the caronesque notes. I enjoyed it but will not look for it again

Ein TDL abseits des schweren, Menthol-lastigen Profils einiger anderer Jahrgänge nach 2000 - stattdessen viele Anleihen aus dem spanischen Stil mit schwerer Süsse von gebranntem Vanillezucker und Sahnetoffee, dezente Fruchtnoten mit teilweise aufzeigende Melone-Note sowie einem recht würzig-röstigen Nachklang. Wirkt insgesamt zwar durchaus interessant dank guter geschmacklicher Breite, allerdings fehlt die letzte Balance.

Joah, also Nase und Mund sind sehr angenehm, der Abgang fällt leider extrem flach aus, es bleibt eine trockene Bitterkeit. Im Mund eigentlich sehr ordentlich, Vanille-Creme, Melone, parfürmierter Tabak, Piement, Milchschokolade, tropische Früchte. Gut, bleibt aber hinter den Erwartungen.

Un peu décevant pour un TDL, très amer sur la bouche et la finale. Très caramélisé également, on dirait presque artificiellement 🤔. Quelque point positif cela dit avec une belle longueur notamment.

Oh well, unfortunately this is out of line - downwards. Quite volatile on the nose and smelling like lemonade syrup, artificially bitter-sweet on the palate. I wouldn't have recognized it blindly as a rum from Trinidad. Doesn't meet my expectations at all, so I'm glad I didn't buy a bottle. Thank you, zabo, for the sample.

Leaning towards a classic Spanish style on the nose. Wood, vanilla and caramel. Also a hint of coconuts and artificial (!) fruit notes. Very sweet on the palate with the same artificial fruit notes from the the nose. There is also plenty of wood and some dryness. Easy to drink, but als noticeable watered down. Not bad, but not my cup of tea - äh rum ;)
