Clarendon Plantation Jamaica One-Time MMW 2003
Most tasters land on the same read: a very fruity Clarendon that trades hard funk for ripe tropical fruit, banana and green apple, with the usual Jamaican glue and solvent lift on the nose. Plenty call it a favorite daily sipper. The recurring gripe is that 49.5% feels a touch soft here, and a few find it turns bitter and woody on the palate.

How does Clarendon Plantation Jamaica One-Time MMW 2003 taste?
Aggregated from 144 community reviews.
Fruity, easy-going Jamaican daily sipper Loved by most as a fruity, well-balanced Jamaican with a long finish. The common catch: some wanted more punch than 49.5% gives, and a handful hit bitterness on the palate.

This is a very delicious, round, harmonious Clarendon. Perfect as a daily sipper. The alcohol is integrated very well. Unfortunately it‘s diluted, otherwise this one could reach a high 80-90 valutation.

I can't get it down, sorry. that's not possible.

A fluctuating, unbalanced nose of solvent and bitter orange. A lively palate with overripe guava and pineapple. Magnificent tropical-fruit length. An interesting and pleasant rum. I've tried it again, and it's still good and pleasant.

Too spicy and woody

A first Jamaican in my meager (recent) experience of old rums lover. And it is simply one of my first real crushes for this Plantation Jamaica 2003 that I took a long time to find one year after its release. A lot of exotic fruits and solvents in the nose, in the mouth it's an explosion of fruit and leather flavors with a rather long finish. Very well balanced, a real discovery, can't wait to taste it when it will be more airy... It won't last long! It is no less good :)

Nach 2 Jahren mal wieder im Glas gehabt. Immernoch ein sehr solider Einsteiger in Jamaica Rum mit unfassbarem PLV. 70€ für 16 Jahre tropical ist heutztage unvorstellbar.

Very nice and very fruity nose. Very light on MM’y herbal notes. More wood and spices on the palate. Long herbal and dry finish. Very nice plantation bottling.

Good MM, which is already clearly dominated by bitterness and astringency.

Very relaxed and tasty rum. Few rough edges. At the time absolutely unbeatable value for money.

not a bad Jamaican and yet I am a little disappointed. a little more Bums 😅, speak alcohol content would have probably done him good

A very nice 17 year old sipper from Jamaica. It has the Jamaican funk but is also very fruity and well balanced. The fruitiness starts at the nose all the way through to the long finish. Finish has a bit of peppery to it and I like this one a lot. Price to quality is good.

Didn't like it too much.

Herbal emphasis, unfortunately a little too bitter for me, otherwise very tasty.

Very fruity profile as expected from a Clarendon rum. It is funky and round but the final could have been longer. Maybe because of its 49.5° ...

For me, one of the Jamaicans with the best PLV. Fruity, dry, present esters, plus light spice, bitterness and slight acidity. Despite the long tropical maturation, the wood remains in the background, but gives a very balanced rum.Especially on the exhale shows a fruitiness of passion fruit and mango reminiscent of an IPA mixed with a tart bitterness - whose herbal facet is actually reminiscent of hops. Remains present in the finish for quite a long time. When Plantation delivers like this, there's no reason to criticize.

Each time I open the bottle and re-taste the goodness, it gets better.... In the meantime, I have to adjust my initial opinion as I can now appreciate it much more. For me, one of the proofs that my pallet is gradually evolving.

Sehr leckerer und fruchtiger MMW mit viel Würze. Etwas niedrig im ABV aber sehr unkompliziert zu trinken. Schmeckt mir sehr gut.
