Karukera Four Daughters 2011
Sherry cask sits right up front here — raisins, cherry and dried apricot over the grassy Karukera cane, with roasted wood, nuts and a touch of cinnamon. At 54.1% it stays balanced, but the finish turns dry and tannic. One taster called this the best sherry-and-Karukera integration they've had; a few felt it doesn't grab as hard as it should.

#4615 16.02.2024 Relaxing with an old friend I haven't seen for 10+ years. Always nice to enjoy a few good rums together. Nose Very nice, sherry, light wood, faint roasted, fruits, light mint, faint caramel. Palate Light wood, faint roasted, fruits, grass, light nutts, sherry. Finish Medium to long, light roasted wood, cherry, light caramel. Looking at the price tag at release I'd say the price tag was very good. A well balanced rum with a really nice profile overall. The empty glass has some leather, light herbs and strawberry.
Review by Jakob
Exciting combination of the classic Karukera profile with the influences from the sherry cask. Besides the dried fruits also with quite clear spiciness and toastiness.

Das Sherry Finish kommt gut durch, ist aber nicht aufdringlich. Richtig gut!

Tasty and very drinkable but now not necessarily the most complex agricole at all. If we were here priced at 60-70 € it would be fine but for the money's clearly more exciting overproof agricoles.
