#4652 10.03.2024 Relaxing at bit at home while my wife is out with a friend. Nose Wood, roasted, spice, fruity, plum, light citrus. Palate Wood, roasted, citrus, tannins, balanced, fruity, plum, spicy/warm. Finish Long and warm, wood, roasted, fruity, citrus. Draws nice slow moving curtains in the glass. The empty glass has some berries, dried fruit and olive notes to it.

Découvert au Rhum Fest 2025. 👃 Boisé typique Saint James, concentré et humide, épices, girofle, épices de cuisine, prune, agrumes, trace de cerise, torréfaction, chocolat, café et noix. 😋 Bois humide, amertume, tannins, chaleur de l'alcool de fruits, agrumes (zeste confit), quetsches sucrées. Plutôt équilibrée mais ça manque de concentration et d'intensité, même pour 43%, surtout avec cette impression d'eau de vie. ⛳ Moyenne, chaude malgré l'ABV, alcool un peu trop présent, bois, torréfaction (noix, café léger), fruits secs et agrumes confits. 💡 Je reste globalement déçu de ce 18 ans par rapport au prix de vente conseillé en métropole (185🍒). On reste sur un assemblage de plusieurs fûts, le tout réduit à 43%, avec un profil aromatique qui me semble un peu trop léger et doux.

Une belle réussite que ce 18 ans d’âge, malgré les années le bois ne prend pas le pas sur les autres arômes…. Un petit côté rhum traditionnel avec ce sucre présent en bouche. Un alcool bien intégré, du pruneau, des épices (girofles) de la vanille. Pour un 18 ans à ce prix , j’ai passé un très bon moment.
