Kill Devil Navy Style
Sipped neat it comes across spicy and roasted, with caramel, coffee and dark chocolate over a Guyana-Jamaica blend. The 57% sits surprisingly well-integrated for the strength. A few tasters wanted more of the Jamaican ester fruit, finding it a touch flat or medicinal — but it also works in a rum old fashioned or Navy negroni.

I'm. Smell comes a lot of jamaica (ester pineapple, banana raisins) paired with a strong guyana tone (dark wood, malt and dark chocolate) The taste is the same. I find the alcohol well integrated and the price-performance ratio is really great with this one, especially considering the high alcohol strength

My first navy rum for a long time. Of course, this one doesn't come close to the outstanding bottlings from Velier. It's not really interesting either. The alcohol is not ideally integrated and the strong sweetness covers up the sharpness. Absolutely OK for the price.

I'd say you get what you pay for with this rum. Kind of a light and fruity navy style rum.

Not a bad blend either, but not quite coherent. More ester notes.

Very special style by the mix of Guyana and Jamaica. Personally, too much bitterness, too burnt and medicinal. The ovaries of the Jamaica share are unfortunately barely perceptible.

Fruity Jamaican nose. Woody and chocolaty on the palate. The finish is medium and malty. Guyana and Jamaica clearly recognvar. But not my Navy favorite. Then rather Black Tot 2020. But good P/L.

On the nose, the alcohol is well present with woody notes and ripe fruits. The attack is frank and not very surprising, the 57° are well there! A spicy, woody rum, which after aeration develops a vegetable side. A nice roundness despite everything that covers the palate well! For the price, bravo!

Not the best Navy style I've ever tasted, not much to say about it, it's strong, dry and lacks sweetness.

03-01-2025 Part of a Navy Tasting. One of the weakest. Missing a bit of everything. Matching the price. What you can expect.
Review by Montana
A heavy spicy aroma, molasses, a little alcoholic, dark chocolate, some ester. The taste is very strong, coffee and dark chocolate, spicy and roasty.A very pleasant Navy Rum.
