N. Kröger Wagemut Fasssprache: French Oak Rum N. 03 2023
Opinions land all over the map here, mostly because it's part of a wood-experiment series — one base Trinidad rum aged a few extra months in different casks. This French oak version reads softer and fruitier than its American oak sibling: vanilla, maple-sweet apricot, citrus, a hint of brioche, then nutmeg and licorice. Several tasters found it fine but "missing that certain something." A project to explore, not a knockout sipper.

Soft, fruity French-oak experiment, young base A neat, fruity, wood-forward bottle that most found pleasant but not memorable. Fans of the maturation project enjoyed comparing it; a few felt the young base rum holds it back.

Fasssprache N. 03 French Oak vs. N. 01 Basis Rum.

Insgesamt etwas feiner, aber No. 2 gefiel mir besser.
