N. Kröger Wagemut Fasssprache: Ash Rum N. 09 2023
One member called the base rum "vergleichsweise spritig" — fairly spirity with little going on, and that honesty matters here. This is part of Kröger's Fasssprache experiment: the same Trinidad rum given six extra months in a German new-make ash cask. Several tasters found the ash version milder and rounder than the base, with caramel, apple, a salty-peppery edge and a licorice-tonka sweetness. The wood influence stays subtle.

Young Trinidad rum, mild ash-cask finish A fun comparison project more than a knockout pour. Most found the ash finish rounder and milder than the base, but the young, spirity core still shows through.

Fasssprache N. 09 Ash vs. N. 01 Basis Rum.
