I like it very much. Straightforward profile, a mature PM with great expression of the typical tart notes from the barrel, plenty of spicy aromas of aniseed and mild pepper, balanced minerality, subtle toastiness and some citrus fruit.

Und dann gibt es auch noch einen Uitvlugt heute. Eigentlich nicht so meins, aber dieser gefällt mir recht gut. In der Not frisst der Teufel Fliegen :-) Ist auch überwiegend modrig, wie von Uitvlugt gewohnt, außerdem noch medizinisch und mineralisch, Pfeffer und Anis sind erkennbar.

Quite a restrained nose. On the palate, however, a beautiful creaminess and intensity. Spices, a few maritime salt notes and citrus fruits. Some smoke. Great Port Mourant with a relatively subtle barrel influence.

Risk of confusion in the nose with the TRC PM 1997, only slightly more alcoholic, but almost identical. A little more depth on the palate than the WB, less sweet and drier. A heavy body here too, with a wide range of aromas and a lovely creaminess. The finish is longer than that of the WB and is also somewhat drier here. Another great rum that I like very much. 88 points

Read full review →My personal preference for a slighty sweeter spirit should be noted but I will also say that I feel this is a really good example, of continentally aged unadulterated Port Mourant rum. It is also from an era whereby we won't see too many new bottlings come up for sale....
