Almond paste, honey and dried apricot lead the nose here, with orange peel, dark chocolate and a sweet varnish note underneath. Tasters keep calling it an atypical Foursquare — the usual coconut steps aside for juicier fruit, kumquat, mango and a floral touch. The palate is unmistakably Barbados but livelier, and at 59% the alcohol runs hot. Long, warm, roasted finish.

👃 première impression très pâtissière, sur de la pâte d'amande (petit cochon rose), pâte à tartiner artisanale miel de fleurs & oléagineux (amandes, noisettes), Petit beurre, müesli maison avec des dés de fruits secs (mangue, papaye). Puis, orangettes au chocolat noir, caramel vanillé, noix de coco grillée, épices de cuisine. Les presque 60 degrés sont bien présents sous forme de vernis sucrés. 😋 Après un premier nez très pâtissier et assez éloigné du profil typique Foursquare, la bouche est indéniablement barbadienne. Fût de Bourbon, alcool assez vif, noix de coco grillée, caramel, miel, vanille, torréfaction de noix et chocolat. À cela s'ajoute une ribambelle de fruits, notamment d'agrumes amères (kumquat, orange sanguine) et de fruits tropicaux confits (mangue, papaye). Un peu de colle douce amère en pot. ⛳ Longue, chaude, chaleur de l'alcool, épicée et pimentée, quelques fruits amères (agrumes), du bois assez rêche, torréfaction. Ça tapisse bien les parois de la bouche. 💡 Un Foursquare atypique, ça fait du bien pour une fois. Pour avoir visité la maison de la lavande en Ardèche, je ne retrouve pas cette caractéristique florale dans le profil de ce rum. Un très bon Foursquare qui, sans se mentir à lui même, explore quelques nouvelles facettes olfactives que l'on a pas l'habitude de retrouver. La magie des sélections des embouteilleurs indépendants.

Nice smelling, round and mild, but not full heavy taste ... Foursquare je destilerka z Barbadosu produkujici uzasne rumy ke kazdodennimu popijeni. Je to rum, ktery oceni zejmena rumari, kteri maji plne zuby cukru a hledaji jemny, nasladly rum plny kokosu, vanilky, cokolady a karamelu. Proste prijemne a nijak agresivni chute.

#7218 26.08.2026 Got a handful of Swell samples today so why not give them a run for their money. Thanks for the samples Peter! Watching the TV Series "Swamp Murders". A very nice Foursquare with an OK price tag in my mind. This is an atypical profile with a more floral touch and fruits, roasted wood, spice, faint glue, caramel, honey, pastries and a warm palate.

Ein netter FSQ bei dem die Kokosnuss vor allem in der Nase nicht so stark präsent ist wie bei den anderen 2006er Abfüllungen. Ansonsten ein solider FSQ der mit den typischen Markern ausgestattet bis lange in den Abgang anhält

A fabulous nose, surprisingly so for a cask strength! You lose the usual markers, replaced by the scent of flowers and honey. On the palate, it’s great, with mango, citrus, and spices. A very, very nice outing that finally deviates a bit from what I know from Foursquare.

Un nez surprenant pour un Foursquare puisque l'amande se substitue à la coco habituelle. Ca semble très gourmand, c'est très sucré et mielleux. En bouche, c'est d'abord le piquant de l'alcool qui s'impose. Puis le miel et la vanille se mêlent à un boisé élégant. Finale moyennement longue qui apporte du chocolat. Sympa. Mais très loin du premier FS sorti par cet embouteilleur.

Wirklich leckerer 2006er Vintage Foursquare und zur Abwechslung Mal aromatisch etwas anders gewohnt. Kumquat, Zitrusmarmelade und getrocknete mango trifft hier auf grünen Pfeffer, Kokosnuss und Milchschokolade mit Haselnüssen und etwas Lavendel. Tolles Release! Am Anfang an der Nase zwar etwas biestig mit viel Lack und erinnert etwas an Madeira Wein, aber scheint halt ein sehr aktives Bourbon Fass gewesen zu sein!😅

Der Preis für das schönste Label geht an Swell! Gold im Glas. ⚜️ Zu Beginn sticht er etwas, ich lasse ihn lange atmen. Schöne Nase. Fourquare mit wenig Kokos, viel Keksen und reichlich Früchten, vor allem reife Mango. Komplexe Zitrusfrüchte. Erdig. Schön geschmolzen, sehr kräftig. Wasser schadet nicht. 💦 Mehr Mango, Zitrus und Gewürze. Sehr komplex und vollmundig. Fruchtig, würzig. Fast etwas funky und tropische Früchte. Schöner Abgang. Würzig, Mango. Ein sehr guter Fousquare abseits ausgetretener Pfade. Fokus auf Zitrus- und Tropenfrucht. Braucht Zeit und Wasser.

Un très beau nez sur la vanille, de la colle, un peu de coco fraîche. La bouche confirme le nez, avec en supplément, un beau côté floral et un peu de peps. Cela évolue pas mal dans le verre. Ce qui marque dans ce foursquare, c est son équilibre et sa finesse, pas de marqueur trop présent, tout est bien fondu. Me plaît vraiment beaucoup. Bravo à swell et à versus pour cette pépite barbadienne. Deux mois après ouverture la note de colle devient énorme au nez, cela en deviendrait presque addictif.

Œil flatteur sans profondeur, nez extrêmement gourmand, pâtissier, flatteur. Bouche extrêmement puissante, violente même ! Quelle claque ! Une fois le feu passé reste une sacré complexité et une touche végétale qui peut faire penser à l’agave d’une tequila de dégustation. Excellent
