A neat-only tasting glass rum, and a wild one: smoke, olive, bacon and glue up front, then red fruit, pineapple and a big fermented tang, drying hard at the end. Several tasters guessed Savanna Grand Arôme blind. The umami-meat-and-cheese profile makes it "outside what I will ever appreciate" for some, and a favorite for others. Very dry, very intense.

I personally can't drink it😃 sweet, super sour, salty, smoky and fermented/fermented. Quite a wild number and unfortunately not my cup of tea! Especially this sweet and sour cheese note doesn't go down well with me, sorry! 😃🫣

Calendrier de l’Avant RumX, jour 11. Un nez chaud d’esters et de fruits, de la banane, du vieux bois verni et un côté goudron d’isolation. Les fruits attaquent en premier en bouche, mais ils disparaissent assez vite laissant la place au vieux bois verni recouvert de goudron d’isolation avec un côté fumé prononcé. La finale ajoute encore une couche d’amertume de plus en plus forte. Tout à la fin de la douceur tempère ces amers et redonne de l’équilibre.

Sehr fruchtig in der Nase. Kirsche und Ananas. Karamell. Sehr rauchig, Politur und alte Komode. Gut balanciert und gute Alkoholintegration. Im Mund dann sehr pelzig, scharf. Lösemittel, Holz. Hatte ich gesagt pelzig? Kurzer, funky Abgang. Ananas und Birne. Handwerklich sicher top. Die rauchige Nase find ich toll. Aber ich ahnte es schon: An einem Schaffell zu nuckeln ist nicht mein Fall. 🐑🐑🐑 80er Range fürs Handwerk und die Nase, 50er (für Angenehm in den 60er reicht es nicht für das Mundgefühl).

Blind tasting 11.12.2024 Nose: Glue, resin, dirty, orange Palate: whisky, smoky, cough syrup, eucalyptus Finish: Medium length, smoky, whisky, orange, eucalyptus Alcohol 58% Score 9.0 Tip: Bellevue 1998 ----------- Wow, what a crazy nose: cheese, nuts, dried fruit... immediately reminds me of Clairin but has much more! The palate is again very unusual: soft, spicy, sweet licorice, medicinal, a little dirt. This is a rum completely off the beaten track and off the beaten track! The wild aromas are beautifully framed by a subtle barrel note. The medium-long finish fades with beautiful roasted aromas and then I suddenly notice a very distant hint of eucalyptus! The cheese note lingers until the end 😁 Reminds me of the whisky from Säntis Dreifaltigkeit, great stuff! I suspect this rum will divide opinion widely. I like it very much! Thanks Oliver for the sample!

Étonnante expérience qui m'a fait immédiatement penser à de la nourriture asiatique : des brochettes de viande fumée à la sauce de soja sucrée...... Dégusté à l'aveugle, j'avais beaucoup de doutes : le fumée très présent me faisait penser à Fiji mais le côté citron de l'attaque ne semblait pas correspondre. Le Galion en effet, avec du recul ça y ressemble même si c'est la première fois que j'en goûte un aussi fumé... Je lui aurais par contre donné+60° d'alcool ce qui me fait dire qu'il n'est pas bien intégré. Une expérience intéressante mais pas des plus plaisantes pour moi.

RumX Advent Calendar Day 11 Nose... Very fruity, gummy bears, strawberries chewing gum sweet, cherries some fruit esters. Palate... At first very fruity, ester strawberries and cherry, shortly afterwards it changes significantly to dry, salty, woody bitter almost musty, developing excellent spiciness and a very complex effect. Finish Nutty and chocolate.

Zumindest mal eine sehr spannende Abfüllung mit komplexen Aromenprofil. Sehr fruchtig nach Erdbeere und Kirsche. Holzig, rauchig, leicht speckig und vergoren. Dazu recht viel Säure, aber es kommt auch wieder das Sherry-Fass durch. Auf jeden Fall interessant, aber mir reicht davon ein 2cl Sample.

RumX Adventskalender 2024, türe 11 Krasses Teil mit viel Savannah Grand Arome Charakter und auch ein paar High Ester Ling Pond Momenten. Beides scheint mir aber nicht ganz stimmig und ich bin ratlos. Toll vielfältig mit Frucht, Speck, Olive, Rauch und etwas Säure. Und schön trocken am Gaumen. Toll, einen gereiften Le Galion hatte ich noch nicht. Gefällt mir 👌

RX Kalender 24: erster Eindruck: ein Savanna GA / HERR mit Sherry Finish. Es kommen rote Früchte, Vanille, Tabak, über allem eine leichte Säure. Am Gaumen sehr würzig, Tabak, röstig, aber auch irgendwie anstrengend mit Bratensoße, Balsamico-Essig (fast schon wie die LP TECA, TECC). Ein interessantes , ziemlich extremes Teil! Weit entfernt vom easy sipper!

RumX Adventskalender Tag 11. Ein Le Galion abgefüllt von der alten Tabakstube. Die Nase ist für mich hauptsächlich rauchig und holzig. Am Gaumen dann noch sehr rostig und auch Speck ist erkennbar. Käse ist für mich leider nicht erkennbar.

Tag 11 des RumX-Adventskalenders: Was für ein Brett! Eine großartige Integration intensiver Ester in feine würzige Holznoten. Die anfängliche Säure im Mund wird mit jedem Schlückchen geringer und es zeigt sich eine gelungene Alkoholeinbindung. Gleichzeitig ist mit zunehmendem Luftkontakt im Glas eine erstaunliche Aromenentwicklung im Gange. Köstlich!

Im Vergleich zum SBS 2019 60,3% nicht so rund, nicht so schöne Früchte, etwas bitter im Abgang. Trotzdem finde ich das Grand Arome Profil toll!

Für mich der erste aus dieser destille. Und ich muss sagen es hat was. Wenn auch deutliche Vorlauftöne erkennbar sind. So ist das Aroma außerordentlich intensiv und vielseitig. Man hat Rauch man hat ein wenig rosine und Speck (tolle Kombi) Von allem etwas. Sollte man unbedingt mal ausprobieren

RumX Kalender 2024 Day 11: An der Nase Säure, Ananas, Ester. Im Mund mehr Säure, astringent, leicht scharf. Oliven und leichte Salzigkeit. Alkohol präsent, aber nicht überlagernd. Insgesamt sehr kraftvoll alles. Mittellanges Finish mit Oliven, sehr trocken, Säure. Tippe auf einen Savanna GA? Aber recht unsicher.

Oh, sehr wilde Aromen unterwegs. Super intensiv und komplex. Fruchtig und bisschen deftig. Sehr speziell aber mir gefällt er sehr gut. Auf jeden Fall eine schöne Überraschung für den aufgerufenen Preis. Danke Oli für das Sample.
