Sour peach rings, esters and toasted coconut up front, then roasted oak, burnt sugar and dried fruit underneath. This tropically-aged Clarendon EMB from Rhum Attitude drinks creamier and fruitier than you'd expect from cask strength, with a long dry finish. Most tasters find the alcohol well integrated, though a few call it a touch scratchy or hot. The peach-candy note wins people over.

Edit: nochmal aus der frisch geöffneten Flasche probiert. Nach oben korrigiert. Mal wieder nach einiger Zeit Clarendons probiert. Dazu wurde der RX17964 und RX20907 parallel verkostet. Der Rhum Attitude wirkt schon ein bißchen kräftiger im Gegensatz zu der Abfüllung von V&M, der m.E. etwas zu dünn ist. Deshalb ist der RX17964 mein Gewinner.

Store visit Rhum Attitude Brussels May 2025. Also an own bottling for Rhum Attitude, which I was allowed to taste on site. Of course we have esters and tropical fruits on the nose and palate. But here there is also some wood. Great.

8,2:On the nose, esters, glue and menthol, tropical, dried fruits and peaches, roasted wood notes with brioche, smoky, dry, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, various roasted wood notes show with pastry and caramel, spicy vanilla, some rubber and toasted coconut. 8,4:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, fruity with tropical fruits and peaches, the molasses is herbaceous, as the wood is roasted, creamy with pastry, burnt sugar, spicy with allspice, salty, slightly resinous, the oak presence is strong. 8,2:The finish is long, dry, the molasses is vegetal, grassy, the wood roasted with nougat, spicy and slightly resinous, fruity with dried fruits and peaches.

Amazingly good cask! In contrast to the EMB 2010 of the Flag Series, I find it somewhat better, beautifully creamy, alcohol super integrated.

Frankonians Tasting Gang - 21.03.2025 - Nürnberg: Die Flasche habe ich während eines Trips nach Brüssel im Rhum Attitude Shop gekauft. Die schnelle Verkostung dort war schon vielversprechend. Jetzt die gemeinsame Verkostung mit der FTG und ich bin ziemlich begeistert! Man merkt die tropische Reifung sofort. Fruchtig, würzig, mit perfektem Holzeinfluss. Die 66,6% könnten kleines Bisschen besser eingebunden sein. Aber am tollsten finde ich die Note nach sauren Pfirsichringen (die echten von Trolli), die mich sofort in meine Kindheit versetzt .

Frankly impressed, the barrel is available in the store, and you can take your bottle home to have it filled, a great experience! Otherwise a young clarendon, a little dry, but very fruity, woody, it has character. I really liked it. The finish is a little short to get into the notes, but frankly top-notch.

Sehr schöne Überraschung … eine echte PLV Grantate. Für knapp unter 70 Euro für 0,5 Liter ein mega Nobrainer. Tolle EMB Vor bes zum kleinen Preis und das mit 10 Jahren tropischer Lagerung. Am Gaumen etwas kratzig, aber bei dem Preis kann man nicht jammmern. Toller Rum zu einem mehr als fairen Preis. Wundervolle Nase mit Guave und sauren Pfirsichringen.

Really good and fruity Clarendon. Better than the Flag series and the alcohol is a little better integrated. Almost creamy and fruity with a great sweetness of caramelized peaches! I find the flag series much more complex but also more bitter and floral. Personally, I would definitely prefer the Rhum Attitude here!

Sehr leckerer Rum. Keine Ahnung was es ist, aber hier passt nahezu alles. Alkohol super eingebunden, schöne Holznote, leicht getoastet, nussig, Trockenobst. Schön langer Abgang. Auflösung: EMB mit 66%. Geil !

Already beautiful. At first it smells like a nice Martinique with a delicate hint of Esther. Totally different in the mouth, alcoholic at first, somehow sweet. Not quite round. Again the association with Agricol, please don't stone me... All in all, a nice rum that could also end up with me.
