"Love at first sight," one member wrote — and this Madeira-cask Plantation does win people over with red fruit, dried fruit and a caramel-apricot core. On the rocks the wine cask really comes forward: woody spice, some cocoa, a little raisin. At cask strength there's a mild burn and a nail-polish edge on the nose that a couple of tasters flagged. Better sipped slow than analyzed hard.

On rocks: smell of woody spice, with some dried fruit. With taste woody spice with a cacoa and dried fruit with a medium finish. Would be a good sipping rum

On The Rocks: On the nose there is a strong alcohol and nail polish aroma with some mild raisins and oak. Taste initially reveals sweetness and delayed spice with a mild burn with a mild moleasses undertone. Finish is medium length with a mild spiced oak red wine trailing off with continued chest warmth.
