Review by Beancheese
Tasted at the incredible Rum Bar Room in Tokyo (September 2024). Decided to end the night with a flight of 3 Caroni rums. This one had a nice complex nose full of petrol and tar balanced with tobacco, sweetness, fruit and minty notes. On the palate smoke, petrol and rubber give way to fresh fruit, wood and spice. This one has all the Caroni ‘harshness’ in the most delicate and enjoyable way. Very enjoyable rum and one of the standouts of an incredible night.

Caroni was selected by Kyoyo Fine Wine and Spirits and released in collaboration with Shinanoya in Japan. Several 1997 Caroni bottles have been released in Japan, but I think this bottle is the best.
