Opinions land in a friendly middle here: most call it a well-balanced, easy-sipping 12-year from Foursquare with vanilla, caramel, chocolate and a light orange note that shows nicely with a cigar. The recurring gripe is the 43% dilutes it — several wish for 50%+, and one felt the bourbon cask buries the Barbados fruit. Coconut runs strong for a couple of tasters.

Es ist ein klassischer Foursquare, mit den typischen Aromen. Einer meiner absoluten Favoriten und unschlagbar im Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Perfect zur Zigarre, da kommen die Orangenaromen noch stärker zu Geltung.

There’s quite a lot of pricewhorty rums from Barbados, and this is one of them. The nose is round and a bit spicy with notes of vanilla and chocolate. At the palate it’s complex, spicy and round with flavors of vanilla and chocolate.

Ein schöner kräftiger Goldton im Glas. Der Geruch ist schwer und ölig, recht süß, leicht würzig. Der Geschmack ist würzig, nur leicht süß. Das Finish ist lang und mild. Ein angenehmer komplexer Rum.

Eine leichte Orange ist in Nase und Mund erkennbar, was den Rum besonders war. Schmeckt bis zum Abgang nach dunkler Schokolade, aber der Alkohol könnte besser eingebunden sein. Der Rum ist gut, aber kann nicht ganz überzeugen. Er verliert (heute?) gegen den Real McCoy 12, den ich zum Vergleich hatte. Letzter ist wesentlich süßer.

Bought this for mixing, it works with Coca Cola, and I really like the look of the Bottle. Sipped it is good, but does not inspire the need to pour another glass.

Another rum where the price to quality is very good. Fruity with nice spices and wood. I like the caramel and nutty flavours in the profile. Would have liked to try this one at 50%+

Der war einer meiner ersten Sipper und der von dem ich am meisten begeistert war. Die Begeisterung kann ich heute nicht mehr teilen - ein guter, einsteigerfreundlicher Rum, aber doch recht eindimensional und stark verwässert. Nase und Gaumen liegen hier nicht weit auseinander: Für meinen persönlichen Geschmack ist das Bourbonfass zu dominant, die schönen Barbados-Frucht kaum mehr zu schmecken.

Manque de puissance et d’arômes par rapport aux ECS Foursquare. Un ECS dilué à l’eau en fait. Pas complexe. Noix de coco trop prédominante et alcool moyennement intégré.

This is an interesting rum in the description but does not deliver on flavour . It's a nice sipper rum but I wouldn't go out of my way to purchase this exclusively, a taster menu yes worth it but other than that there is better availabile
