A very nice rum and the price is pretty good even though its a 200 euro plus bottle. This sip needs to rest before you have a go. It actually needs time to release all the flavours. The nose is heavy with light fruit, nutty and vegetal notes. In the back there is some sweetness, leather and very light smoke. The palate is well balanced with a nice spicy tinge to it. I also find herbal and vegetal noted mixed with banana, leather, licorice and very light wood and chocolate notes. The finish is medium to long with wood, herbs and a hint of chocolate.

The nose is heavy, we are far from the AOC of now! We are closer to long fermentation rums, big aroma style. It's earthy-tarry and woody. It is a nose of another time and intriguing. The attack on the palate is smooth but with a full-bodied flavor profile. There is leather, animal but mostly spice and licorice. The finish is woody-aniseed and rather short (but that's normal with 44% on tap). An interesting rum because it is diametrically opposed to what is today's agricole in Martinique. I even think that it is a molasses rum!

Nose greedy, impossible to guess the Martinique.mouth more spicy slightly smoked with a certain freshness but nevertheless rather flat.short finish which reminds the flat side with always this small freshness.
