Rather restrained nose but then very heavy, concentrated, thick and oily on the palate. At the same time, many intense wood flavors meet green apple, strawberry, menthol, cinnamon and allspice, as well as burnt sugar and too long baked croissant😀🥐 overall for me too much wood influence, too bitter and not necessarily worth 250€... Nevertheless, an exciting example of old savanna blends!

Balanced blend, but still lacking a lot to become a top rum. Very alcoholic despite the 55%, too much for me. Otherwise a nice heavy rum that certainly has its fans. For me, however, Savanna stands for more delicate things than this heavyweight.

Savanna Masterclass for RumX 2024. Brown sugar, varnished wood, candied lemon, vegetal and apple form a beautiful, complex nose. A soft entry with toffee, vegetal and citrus. The wood is supportive but never dominant. The finish is long, harmonious and complex.

Comparison with the absolu 24: This one is clearly the denser rum, the more traditional profile may be a little more boring but in the end is at least on a par with its successor. Nice variety that Savanna offers here. RumX Savanna Masterclass 12.7. Clearly floral, traditional profile on the nose, which I personally like very much. Much more concentrated on the palate and above all spicier and with plenty of tannins. Nice menthol note on the finish. An exciting blend that just came out on top for me in the tasting because it is the most intense.

An unexpected release from Savanna, this rum offers a skilful blend between floral influences on the one hand (geranium, perfume, flowers) and more muscular spicy aromas (cinnamon, pepper). The fruitiness only comes later, at the same time as the port cask's roundness. A very enticing olfactory profile. If the nose was rather homogeneous, the attack on the palate is more unbalanced and lively, notably on the toasted woody side, but above all on the spices, which dominate here. The spicy notes go hand in hand with the roasted coffee to give a dark profile, strangely counterbalanced by fresher notes of agricultural greenery. The fruit is transparent, obliterated by the warmth of the spices and the agricultural freshness. The alcohol is fairly well integrated. The finish is persistent on wood, spices and roasted notes, but always with a vegetal background. Even if this isn't the best Savanna ever, it's a rum that offers an atypical, antinomian experience, and one that's sure not to leave fans indifferent.

Savanna Masterclass for RumX July 2024: Great rum that impresses with its aromatic density as soon as it is poured, but gains significantly more with a little time to breathe. Fascinating floral-perfumed notes, wood, fermented fruit, herbal aromas. A very successful release.

Nice on the nose providing complexity with lot of notes to discover. There is a distinct buttery sensation to it. Very nice. Very high intensity and complexity on the palate. All individual components of the blend add some distinct impacts making for a deep and rich profile.

Aftertaste of the missed Savanna Masterclass ... typical blend of traditional and Grand Arôme. Relatively tannic with a lot of bitterness on the finish but also very interesting. Not the best Savanna blend but very good to drink straight. But in no way worth the RRP.

A nice conclusion to this Savanna Masterclass. L'Absolu certainly has more to offer than the average rum. The nose and palate are beautifully spicy, woody and smoky. A nice end to this masterclass. Thank you Oliver and Sam for this opportunity :-)

Hmm, not really my cup of tea. Balanced & gentle nose, but rather aggressive palate. Astringent, alcoholic with some fruits and tannins. Finish a bit bitter and woody. You can feel the complexity, but feels a bit disjointed.

Beaucoup de fruits, notamment des fruits rouges, mais également un côté cognac, et une finale relevée par de la menthe, du poivre, et des tanins. La finale est un poil trop courte pour passer les 9, mais c’est un vrai coup de cœur. ❤️

toller Blend, obwohl auf dem Label nur Traditionelle vermerkt ist, ist dennoch Grand Arome DNA vorhanden, bzw. nimmt zum Glück überhand. Schade, dass der Blend auf 55% verdünnt wurde. Ordentlicher Preis, welcher abschreckt.

👃 Une association d'essence de bois, d'odeurs de fût, de chêne épicé qui amène de la cannelle, de la gousse de vanille et du bâton de réglisse. L'aspect fruité est dominé par de la pomme verte (pomme d'amour des foires aussi) et un mix de fruits rouges. Caramel de sucs de fruits. Ananas et agrumes (citron) très légers. Une note florale évidente (géranium, hortensia), de fleurs de fruits du verger et légère feuille de menthe séchée. Esters doux et vernis léger du GA. Un nez assez complexe qui balaye suffisamment d'arômes pour rendre agréable ce début de dégustation. 😋 Intense, le début est très porté sur un boisé amer, même astringent, sec, tannique, fût épicé et rêche. Puis, on retrouve de la douceur avec les fruits rouges et la pomme verte du nez, dans une facette un peu plus confite et caramélisée (bonbons des fêtes foraines). Le milieu de bouche s'accompagne de notes herbacées et végétales, sur du thé vert, du tabac blond, un peu de menthe verte. Une bouche très boisée et astringente qui pourrait ne pas plaire à tous. ⛳ Longue, on continue sur les caractéristiques boisées, assez sombres, amères et tanniques. Épices poivrées, vanille cuite, noix, menthol. Fruits secs du fût, puis finale assez terreuse et herbacée. 💡 Un blend qui associe avec le bon équilibre rum traditionnel, Grand Arôme et vieillissement en fût de Porto. Si vous aimez lorsque les variations du bois sont dominantes (tanins, amertume, astringence). 🏅 Petite préférence pour l'Absolu 2024. Trouver un sample du 2025 pour comparer.

Cooler und spannender Rum. Hat mir insgesamt am besten gefallen von diesen Samples. In der Nase noch fruchtig, nach Kaugummi. Tabak, erdig und holzig im Profil, etwas von Bourbon. Schön langer aber trockener Abgang.

Clearly on the herbal side with a refreshing, almost tangy spicy note that really appeals to me. However, there is always a subtle soapy note that reminds me of a chewed coriander leaf or bitten Szechuan pepper, which makes me frown slightly. Nevertheless, a lovely rum. Savanna RumX Masterclass mit Samuel Pitarch, 2024-07-12: Mein erster Eindruck wird wieder bestätigt. In der Nase schwere, fruchige Süsse, die hauptsächlich vom Portweinfass getragen wird. Am Gaumen übernehmen dann schnell die holzigen, adstringenten Noten. Nicht schlecht aber auch nicht hervorragend.

Probiert in der RumX-Masterclass: In der Naee sehr verhalten, am Gaumen aber dann das komplette Gegenteil - Intensiv, holzig, würzig. Man merkt, dass hier auch ältere Komponenten im Blend enthalten sind, die dem Rum Tiefe und Komplexität geben. Ein „traubiges“ Finish macht sich bemerkbar, zumindest ein Port-Cask scheint hier verwendet worden zu sein! Der beste der fünf im Tasting und somit ein guter Abschluss. Leider liegt der Preis auch hier wieder sehr hoch. In dieser Preisklasse gibt der Markt teilweise noch stärkere Abfüllungen her, schade!

Hned po otevření se místností rozvoní grand arome. Vůně, která vybízí k nalití sklenky. Květinové tóny a tóny červené ovoce na nose, v chuti mimo výše uvedeného pepřovat, silný vliv portského sudu a a závěr který se láme do hořka. An excellent Savanna, but not worth the price. The nose opens with a profusion of red fruits in syrup (Morello cherry), as well as apple, which made me wonder whether this rum had matured in a calvados cask. There's also a background of gourmet licorice. The palate follows this nose exactly, with a superb integration of alcohol that makes this an easy-drinking spirit. The finish is medium-bodied and generous on syrupy fruit and wood.

Un Savanna bien sombre et boisé. Réglisse et cuir d'abord. Puis des notes florales et des effluves de fruits rouges discrètes. En bouche, le boisé est dominant. Beaucoup d'amertume qui prend le palais. Le tabac et le cuir. Puis de petites notes de fruits rouges bien sucrés. Finale longue sur des notes amères très agréables. Passé quelques secondes, ce sont les notes sucrées qui restent. Superbe.

Im ICE verkostet - die Nase ist erst mal unscjeinbar und rund eindeutig Savannmit etwas Holz und Marille. Würde darauf tippen, dass in dieser Abfüllung sowohl Rum aus Zuckerrohrsaft, als auch Melasse gelandet ist. Am Gaumen habe ich hier neben Vanille und einer leichten Holzigkeit plötzlich Rote Grütze,Kirsche und Kakao - geht also etwas in Richtung schwarzwälder Kirsch. und auvh als Mixer macht er sich richtig gut. Im Angebot ist er abundzu zu nem vernünftigem Preis erhältlich, der UVP von um die 200 is mir hier aber ne Ecke zu viel.

Verkostung in der masterclass. Sehr fruchtige Nase. Rote Früchte mit Apfel. Im Geschmack schon einiges an Holz. Lang und komplex. Leicht bitter. Schöner Abgang. Ein toller rum, der aber wahrscheinlich nicht für jeden gut zugänglich ist. In der Nachverkostung leicht besser.

On the nose: perfum like floral note dominates. Green apples. Hints of licorice. A bit of woody notes too. Taste:Herbal, vegetal, hints of tobacco notes. Mixture of red fruits maybe. Green apples and apple notes on this one. There is some barrel influence in there and cognac notes too. Alcohol is integrated quite well. Good mouthfeel and easy to sip. Finish: Earthy, menthol, floral, mostly menthol. Quite dry and toasted. I would say long finish. Quite interesting bag of flavours on this one. I find quite hard to review this one and i mean it in a good way. Maybe not a all night sipper for me thou. The quality is there and i think its in a very good rum category. I have to come back to this rum for a second round.

Auf den ersten Schluck gefällt mir der hier ziemlich gut. Ist aber auch nah an dem VAST aus dem letzten Jahr. Der hat mir auch gut gefallen. Etwas mehr Power würde ihm noch gut tun, aber ansonsten eine gelungene Mischung aus frucht und Kräutern.

It's really very good, rich with port without being cloying at all, it's very refined. This is the third time I've tasted it, and the GA comes out more and more as the bottle oxidizes. The 55 proof is perfect for this blend. A truly beautiful rum.

17/09/2025: online Savanna Masterclass by Rhumlicious. A great blend of Traditionnel, Grand Arôme and a port finish. I liked this heavier, darker style of Savanna a lot because it was different than the rest. Alcohol could have been integrated a bit better.
