"What a ride" is how one member sums it up — and at nearly 80% that's fair warning. The nose is the easy part: caramel, vanilla, wood and lemon peel, genuinely well integrated for the proof. The palate is a different story, hitting with dried fruit, orange peel and a wall of spice into a long, dry, warm finish. Several tasters knock it back to 60% and find papaya, thyme and herbs open up.

A rum tasted at the WLP. A very aromatic nose, much more so than the Audacieux. Vanilla and caramel, light oak and tropical fruit, citrus. Surprisingly smooth on the palate, given the ABV. Aromas of chocolate and caramel, young wood. All in balance. A long, gently fading finish. A better rum than Audacieux for my taste. An amazing discovery and integration of alcohol!

For just under 80% alcohol, this one is extremely well integrated, especially on the nose, and does not sting. In terms of taste, however, it is very dominant but far from undrinkable. Diluting it to around 60% does it good, revealing notes of caramel, overripe papaya, thyme, and other herbs. Overall, however, I find it somewhat one-dimensional and the finish is very short. Not something I would need a bottle of.

Antoinette: woody with vanilla, slightly bitter, sweet finish. Not particularly complex. A woody easy sipper. The finish is medium-long and the best part of the rum. Apollonie: Soft, also sweet, with a vegetal and herbal touch. Overall more complex, delicious. Elise: This one has the most intense nose so far, which continues on the palate. The dark and red fruits are much more prominent here than in the ones tasted before. Also delicious. Aventurier: That's nothing. More reminiscent of a young Foursquare. Poorly integrated alcohol. Aventurier BDF: Almost 80% ABV. Sounds promising, but here it is comparatively tame and boring. The alcohol is well integrated, but unfortunately there is no spectacle of aromas. Would have expected more here. Complaining at a very high level. Audacieux bdf: Better already, the 73% ABV is very well integrated, oily on the palate, warm, woody with dark fruits. The finish disappoints. The tasting was a sobering experience, but maybe I just have too high expectations when I see Isautier. My favorites remain, by a wide margin, the bottlings from Velier and Swell.

Phew, the alcohol is very present, but not extremely unpleasant. A good rhum, although the alcohol content seems somewhat exaggerated.

Ja är lite besviken på denna. Doften är mest fat, kola och lite vanilj. Smaken är inte så komplex. Bränt socker, kola, vanilj och fat med inslag av tropisk frukt. Men alkoholen är fantastiskt bra integrerad och den är rund i smaken.

When Isautier decides to drop the atomic bomb, it produces something similar to this rum. The nose offers a beautiful concentration of aromas of pastries, brioche, and a few sweet touches, before moving on to tropical fruits, citrus fruits, and ending with spices as noble as they are shimmering (nutmeg, cardamom). A floral breeze brushes the nostrils, offering a complete and delightful aromatic bouquet. On the palate, the impact is brutal: the power of the juice is like a tidal wave of dried fruit, pastry notes, herbaceous flavors, citrus, and spices (chili pepper). The whole explodes in the mouth with a great bang. As good and noble as the cask strength is, the alcohol content is at the limit of what is reasonable. The finish is very long, numbed by the heat of the alcohol, but allows you to travel through the fruity aromas, spices, woodiness, hints of caramel and vegetal and floral notes. It is clear that it is best to be prepared for this type of juice, which should be consumed in moderation. Although the alcohol is very well crafted, better integration of the alcohol (or slight reduction) would have been welcome.

Pecička od isauteru. Ve vůni silně aromatické ovoce, v chuti exploze na patře zoůsobená velmi vysokým abv, které byť je poměrně dobře integrováno je přesto velmi intenzivní. Závěr je nekonečně dlouhý a procházi celým tělem. Rád se k tomuto rumu ještě vrátím

Woohaa what a ride…I like that…but I was expecting it and was ready for that. Personally it reminds me warmth of whiskey. The color- golden brown dark. The smell- caramel, vanilla, wood..lemon peel The taste- really intense, but I didn’t add a water…woody, spices, a lot of spices, fruits- orange peel…long warm aftertaste- dry, spicy, woody… Overall great choice for an experienced rum drinker, not for someone who can’t stand strong taste…

Very nice pineapple fruitiness, a little orange, green wood, quite lively, nervous attack and then evaporates a little! Medium complexity, better on the nose than on the palate.
